Like it but have problems with my specific phone November 7, 2008

I have had the headset for about three months. I am using them with my Sony Ericsson z750a phone (see below for issues with this phone).
You can use it with either one ear or both ears by changing the loop over the ear. They came with three sizes of ear plugs and I have had no problem with them falling out even when at the gym on the treadmill or elliptical machines.
The headset has a volume and pause control. The volume control is a little annoying because it beeps every time you lower or raise the volume. Also the headset takes over the volume control from the phone. The mike slides down to answer a call and you slide it back up to hang up. You can also push the button on the side to answer or hang up. I believe you can also change tracks with the controls but since I have not tried this I am not sure.
Music sounds fine and I have had no complaints when talking to others. (My previous BT headset brought many complaints due to background noise especially when in a car with the AC blowing loud.
I have had no problems with battery life but have not really pushed it. I usually leave it paired 24/7 and use it more for MP3s than for conversation. I charge every other day simply because my phone requires that. The charger is a little difficult to plug into the headset but it makes a solid connection. The main body has an LED that flashes to show the charge left.
I am having a problem when listening to podcasts. Most podcasts do not have a standard stereo left and right track since they are recorded in mono. When using this headset with my Sony Ericsson z750a phone while playing a podcast, the sound does not come through the headset. The phone's player is playing the file but no sound come through the ear buds. If I break the Bluetooth connection the file plays using the phone's speaker or wired ear phones. I have tried a different Voyager 855 and had the same results. Neither Sony Ericsson nor Plantronics could offer me a solution for this problem. I paired this headset with my wife's Nokia 9555 and the headset. It worked flawlessly even with podcasts. To me this indicates the SE z750a phone is the problem so be careful to determine compatibility before purchasing.
Stereo podcasts and other MP3s in stereo play fine.

I had ordered this for my Sony E. mp3 cell phone. I found out its not compatable with it. I should have checked with my phone techs first though, (my fault).Tthe talking part was good when the ear bud would stay in place. I got spoiled I quess on another bluetooth ear piece that I tried and needed no ear hooks with, just the bud, and you could shake your head all you want and was not going anywhere. I don't remember what the brand was though, but it did not support music, and that is why I purchased this one. I have returned it already.

I love the product however my BT connection disconnects/reconnects during every phone call at least once. I mated the 855 to my LG Voyager phone. When I am not dropping the Bluetooth connection, I love the product. The sound is great and the stereo feature (by adding second ear bud) works well (although it could use more bass).
I have had the Voyager 855 for 3 weeks and from day one the BT dropped and reconnected during every phone call. I contacted Plantronics about my problem and they stated the problem was with the LG Voyager phone. I should try shutting the phone off and back on to try to alleviate the problem. This was not a solution. It did not correct my BT problem.
I decided to return my phone to Verizon Wireless and received a replacement. The problem still persisted with the BT dropping/reconnecting.
I contacted Plantronics again and told them about my problem. They decided to replace my Voyager 855 headset. I received it yesterday and I am still having the same BT problems. Now I am frustrated and not sure who or which product is to blame.
Bottom line... this is a great product and is very comfortable in my ear. I have not had a problem with battery life and the headset is my ear for 2 hours at a time with no discomfort. If I could just resolve this bluetooth issue I would raise the rating.

Great Headset, even with only the main earbud in, you can still sync it with Stereo devices. Call quality is great on my end, and I have been told it's OK on the other person's.
The only things I was a little disappointed in was the battery life (which is fairly short) and the earpiece (when walking around a lot) can slowly start to slip out.
Other than that, just keep it charged when not in use, and push it back in your ear from time to time, and it's great!
