Product Description Pet Barrier extension kit for larger vehicles.

| Customer Reviews: useless barrier November 17, 2009 Richard Dracass (Renton, WA USA) We got the highland pet barrier for our 6 month old Akita mix puppy. It didn't fit our Chrysler Town and Country (even thought it said it fits all vans and SUVs) so we bought the extension pack. The extension pack helped the unit reach the top and bottom of the cargo area, but our puppy was easily able to either fit through the gaps in the bars, or just knock the entire unit down and make himself comfy in the front of the vehicle. After months of struggling with this unit trying to make it work, we ended up throwing it in the dump, and got a travelling harness and leash that we attach to an anchor in the cargo area and it keeps Oliver safely in place. Don't waste your money on this.
Not Very Convenient August 31, 2009 T. Remmers (Monroe, WA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It would have been better for the vertical bars to be spring loaded for installation purposes. It is hard to put together and install in the back of a minivan for someone with back issues. My dogs blew right through it and ended up in the front seat before we knew it (they're Aussies, so go figure) Also, it leaves marks in the ceiling of my van that I can't get out. Not thrilled with the design. So far it hasn't been very useful, but I will keep trying.
Great November 11, 2008 Jeff Briggs (Vail, CO) Has done a great job of extending the bars to keep my escape artist of a dog in the back.
Works very well. Sometimes rattles slightly. June 30, 2008 Daniel S. Winger (Verona, WI United States) I use the Highland 20046 Pet Barrier and 1 extension kit in my 2008 Ford Taurus X. I recommend the product highly. I am battling with a slight rattling sound. But I'm pretty sure I'll be able to eliminate the problem by using the tightening screws like I'm supposed to! I recommend this product. Incidentally, I also employ an off-white mosquito netting barrier to keep the dog hair (Yellow Lab) out of the passenger compartment. This works amazingly well. I've had the dog in the car for hours and there is almost *no* hair where the passengers sit! FYI: attached a velcro strip all the way across the ceiling with the adhesive side (the side with glue) down. Then I took another velcro strip with the adhesive side up and attached the two strips. I then connect the mosquito net to the down-side of the lower strip of velcro. This deploys quickly and I can remove it in a hurry, too. I recommend both. Oh... visibility through the metal pet barrier and the mosquito net is totally fine. No problems! :-)
Works and looks great! September 20, 2007 Martina (Woodbridge, VA USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
We recently bought a mid-size SUV and wanted something to prevent our two dogs from jumping over the back seats and keep them safe in the trunk area during our trips. We also have a baby on the way and wanted to keep her safe as well. We've had this on for about a month now and it's been working great. It didn't take long at all to install and I like the fact that it doesn't have the "cage look" like some of the other pet barriers I was looking at. I did a lot of research on this and the Highland one turned out to be a good deal. We installed the extension kit as well, although this is only needed if you have the back seats down. You don't need the extension kit if you're not planning to lower your back seat. The two bars that come with the original package will work fine.
