5 out of 5 stars Hard to find   March 13, 2010
Anonymous Shopper (USA)
It isn't easy to find a good quality harness for my 55-lb girl that 1) doesn't rub under her armpits, 2) is sturdy enough to restrain her when she sees a cat, and 3) isn't ugly or black!

I ordered the Large (50-80 lb) in pink. It fits her perfectly and she looks great. She loves it and wears it proudly.

Note: per the weight-size recommendation, it should have been a little roomy, not a perfect fit, yes? If you have a wide-chested dog that weighs more than 55-60lbs, you might want to consider the next larger size.

2 out of 5 stars i agree with sizing problems- order one larger   February 26, 2010
EJ (D.C. area)
sizing was off. our 75# lab mix is too big for the large. go figure. . .
it's heavy, and not great for walking the dog, but OK for car purposes- if it fit.

not worth shipping to return. . . we lose

4 out of 5 stars Small Way Too Small For My Rough-Coat Jack Russell   February 13, 2010
C. Tomlinson (Novato, CA)
Going by the weight range advertisied, I assumed a small harness would be fine for my 18-pound rough-coat J.R. but I was wrong, big-time. Like a reviewer said in an earlier review, if the straps are adjusted the ends become a bulky mass of thick webbing. So be warned, adjustment of the straps is super limited. Because the harness seems well-made and great for the car, I'm going to return the small and try the medium (maybe large?). Also, as a previous reviewer mentioned, I rec'd the wrong color -- ordered black and received red. If the harness color is important to you, it's seems very possible you may not get what you ordered.

2 out of 5 stars Good fit, wrong color   February 2, 2010
Jessica L. Feeny (NY)
This was a good fit and nice harness, but they sent me the wrong colors!! I ordered a medium in pink, it was sent in black, and a large in black and that was sent in pink! We were in a hurry and got them right before we relocated out of state, but it was quite embarrassing for a large male boxer to be walked around in a pink harness. But, you have to do what you have to do.

Nice product, but be weary of getting exactly what you ordered.

4 out of 5 stars Caution: Very sturdy but order carefully for small dogs!   January 16, 2010
Karen (Connecticut, U.S.)
As other reviewers with small dogs have found, the sizing on these harnesses run VERY small for the SMALL size. It seems to be due to the very sturdy strap material -- the folds are so thick they limit how much the straps can be adjusted. For example, I have extended each strap as much as possible (limited by the thick strap folds), and the SMALL-size harness just fits my 6-pound toy poodle. I've added a photo of my dog in his harness: [...]

Otherwise, it is a very well-made and sturdy harness. I like that it's designed with the back straps fitting around the chest (doesn't fit too closely to his legs and thus shouldn't create problems with rubbing as he walks).
