Product Description
No matter how much you love your dog, no one wants to have dog hair and mud all over the backseat of the car. Kurgo has taken the standard hammock and brought it to the next level. The Kurgo Wander Hammock features a perfect fit design, utility bag for Fido¿s leash, toys and water and a playful pattern. Plus the waterproof hammock is made of an anti-microbial fabric that repels dirt and moisture. It is very easy to put in, clean and remove when not in use.

3 out of 5 stars Kurgo Wander Hammock Seat Cover   March 13, 2010
W. Sulima
Overall, this is a decent back seat cover. I have two Siberian Huskies and I bought it in an attempt to replace the multiple layers of old blankets I used to use to cover my back seat whenever I take them in the car. The cover requires you to feed the seat belts through it in order to secure it to the seat; it also has 4 loops that hang over your head rests on the front and back seats. Feeding the seat belts through the cover of course means that there are holes in the cover (somewhat self-defeating, though I'm not sure if any of the alternatives has a better method of securing the cover to the seat), so the dogs inevitably step through these and put paw prints on the seats anyway. I've since resorted to adding back a blanket or two to prevent this. Having the hammock is still a major improvement though; when I stop short, it keeps the dogs from slipping onto the floor like they used to before I had it, and it gives them a little more surface area to lie down.

4 out of 5 stars Dog Hammock   March 4, 2010

Our new dog is not a real car dog and was somewhat skittish. The Wander Hammock has been great. He seems more relaxed and I don't have to constantly clean up the dog hairs. Well worth it!

2 out of 5 stars does not fit certain cars   February 15, 2010

Seems well made and it's a good idea but I didn't realize when I ordered that you need to have a car that has adjustable headrests in the backseats. My Honda Accord does not so there was no way for me to make this work.

2 out of 5 stars Material is strong, plastic is weak   January 24, 2010
Elizabeth (San Francisco, CA United States)
I replaced my 10 year older worn out pet seat cover with this hammock style thinking this would be great, I loved the zipper option and the fact i can store stuff on the floorboards under it. The first thing one of my 75 lbs labs did was jump the front to get into the front seat anyway and in the process pull all the swivel hook out of their housings. I pushed them back in but they all popped out again on the next trip. All the plastic parts on this hammock don't hold like I had expected. I used other metal hooks on short bungees to re-hook around the front and back seats and then zipper broke after not even a month. I have a range rover and it is not wide enough to completely cover the seats, could of used about 4 more inches at the least. I read the other reviews before purchasing but my spastic chocolate labs are no match for this, it just didn't hold up with the ease I was hoping for. I am using it anyway because were it does cover and with my new modifications it works, except for the zipper. i put my old cover back on under to cover the sides this one misses on the bottom of the seat. I debated giving one more star because it cleans up well (after i unhook my modifications), the material and sewing on all the seams are holding up really well. I have had it now for 3 months. I need to reread the guy who said this held up super to his two dogs... maybe he's updated it or his plastic was stronger...

4 out of 5 stars Great Heavy Duty Hammock But Needs A Little Help   December 17, 2009

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box/bag and took out the hammock was that it was made of very strong, heavy duty material. We have a 2009 Acura MDX and the hammock was easy to install. The two "Bungie Cords" that was missing on one reviewer's unit was probably just unseen.
The bungie's are on the underneath side and towards the front middle of the rear seat when the hammock is installed. I saw them when I first took the hammock out of the box/bag and made note of their location.
In my opinion, that's where this hammock needs help. They ask you to pull the bungies under and around the rear seat's front corner and tie them to tabs installed on the door sides of the hammock. I felt that tying them would cause a problem later when I needed to untie them to take the hammock out. I made an adjustable slip knot and attached a small hook/clip to the bungie and then clipped it to the attachment ring. Now it's easy to install, uninstall and adjust.
I do have a friend up the street that has a hammock from a different manufacturer and they use a strapped anchor that slips into the crease between the rear seat's back and the seat itself to hold the bottom of the hammock in place and keep it from sliding forward. I like this attactment better than the one Kurgo employs.
The downside is that their hammock is not as ruggedly made as the Kurgo unit. We have a 11 mo. old Bernese Mountain Dog that is now 90 lbs and probably on her way to 110 lbs. or so at maturity. This Kurgo hammock supports her well and with the weight/quality of the material, I have no worries that she'll tear it in some way and get to where she could ruin my leather seats.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the hammock. The zippered separator worked well when we need to quickly open up a rear seat for an extra passenger. And my BMD loved the company.
I just wish the "bungie" anchoring system was a little more user friendly.
