This item had no smell at all when I opened the pakage. I do not know if it was just old stock or what but it had no oder what so ever.
It does look cool hanging from my mirror but it is not an airfreshner.
If you are looking for an airfreshner do not buy this one.

This air freshener smells great at first...but then loses its smell within a week. But the fact thats its wooden and looks really good makes it still a really cute rear-view mirror accessory. I would recommend buying this for the price and how unique it is.
