Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Cuisinart automatic 12-cup coffee maker uses the same brewing system found in commercial coffeemakers so you can be assured of getting a truly satisfying cup of coffee. With its 12-cup capacity, you can bet the other 11 cups are going to be equally tasty. Easy to clean Gold Filter with easy swing-out basket Brew Pause Color - Black with brushed stainless-steel accents

Amazon.com Review
Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Great Coffee   January 9, 2009
K. Mills (TN)
This was a top rated product in consumer reports and I am glad I purchased it. The multiple settings and functions make this a great coffee maker. The filtering system really helps the coffee taste better as well. It has warming plate time options, small batch, timer settings, and comes with the gold tone filter. Easy to maintain and the small batch is perfect for that special cup!

4 out of 5 stars this coffee maker looks as good as it works!   January 9, 2009
dizzygrl (salem, OR USA)
this coffee maker looks really good on our counter and it makes coffee very quickly; which is a huge plus in our household. The only problem i have is that it's hard for me to see down into the water well when filling it because i'm not as tall as my husband but that wouldn't stop me from buying another one.

4 out of 5 stars Good tasty Coffee!   January 9, 2009

This coffeemaker looks really good on your counter especially if you have stainless steel appliances. One thing: if you like light coffee, you'll need to put very little coffee since coffee tends to come up quite strong.

5 out of 5 stars I'd pay 2X as much if I had to   January 8, 2009
Todd (MN)
This is the best coffee maker I've ever seen/used. It is totally solid. My last one died after 4 years but I use it 2-3 times every day. I figure that's like 3,650 times. That's less than 2 cents per use. When it died I didn't hesitate for a second to get a new one. (It failed to make the coffee hot enough.)

I would easily pay 2x as much for this coffee maker if I had to.

5 out of 5 stars Cuisinart DCC-1200 Black and Stainless Steel   January 8, 2009
Earl R. Gabbard (San Antonio, TX)
This coffee maker has been in service only since Christmas Day . . . I read all the reviews before buying this lifegiving piece of equipment. Is it supposed to have a light in the clock? Who cares? This sits in the kitchen where clocks much larger and easier to read abound. Can't figure how much water you're putting in? Fill your favorite coffee mug as many times as cups of coffee you will drink and pour each in the carafe. Add half a cup more water (read instructions!) and pour in the water holding tank. Plenty of room is available at the opening of the holding tank, just pour slowly and steadily and stand on a stool if you're extremely vertically challenged since the opening is on the back, RH corner. Before adding grounds the first time, read the directions, then adjust to taste during the next couple of uses.
Controls are simple and straightforward. I like having the grounds basket up top. It's almost impossible to knock over/out the carafe this way! The only thing funky about the carafe is the lid. It isn't attached on a hinge, but snaps in from front to back and snaps out with your thumb from back to front. It works just fine, but just different from the norm.
Oh yes, it does make a good cup of coffee!
Glad I bought (me) a new coffee pot for my wife for Christmas!
