Product Description Soft Sleeper 5.5 has found a way to give you the same great sleep surface as a $5,000 visco-elastic foam mattress for a price starting at 94% less the cost of a traditional visco foam mattress that sell at some retailers for over $5,000! There is a revolution going on in bedrooms across the country. The revolution is not between the sheets...it's under them! Visco-Elastic memory foam uses a technology first developed by NASA to make the most comfort sleep surface ever. We have taken that technology and developed a luxurious Soft Sleeper 5.5 next generation material. You may have seen the visco-foam mattress story on TV but the secret is that you can save money by shopping online instead of paying over $5,000 for their mattress. The Soft Sleeper 5.5 eight inch mattress is a component mattress made from 4 inches of heat sensitive visco elastic memory foam and one 4 inch supportive base component for spinal alignment and support. One base is a firm supportive layer and the sencond layer is made of temperature sensative visco elastic memory foam for comfort. This luxurious Soft Sleeper 5.5 material reacts to your body temperature, so the surface stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Over 9 out of 10 of our customers report that the contoured surface cradles their body and helps eliminate those pressure points created by traditional mattress surfaces. Another 89% of our customers even reported less back and neck pain. You will enjoy a rejuvenating sleep with our luxurious Soft Sleeper 5.5 integral component mattresses sleep system from Soft Sleeper memory foam. The Soft Sleeper Memory Foam integral component formula means that our component mattresses are scientifically engineered to exacting standards, incorporating the two most important factors when it comes to making sure you get the best sleep possible. Shipped in 1 or 2 large boxes, some assembly required. For laminated mattresses please visit our All Sleep Store for other Soft Sleeper products.

Worst Ever November 27, 2007 G. Jones (Portland Maine) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT!!! I don't know who these people are that are soo satified but I think they are planted reviews. This was delivered in three boxes and was bound by plastic wrap. Once out of the box, the three layers were cut with what looked like pinking shears and were horribly uneven. This was NEVER a mattress that sold for 999.00 ... When I tried to return it All Sleep was helpful at first but I could not package the layers to send. While trying to come up with a solution to the shipping problem, the UPS labels they sent to me expired and now they will not return any emails or calls. WORST SERVICE AND PRODUCT EVER!
Excellent mattress! August 13, 2007 Eric (Monterey, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I would give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the packing and the missing pillow. I agree with the other reviewer that the packing was horrible and exactly as described. You have to be very careful not to damage either piece of foam. I didn't have a latex smelling room after opening it up like the other reviewer complained of. For $150 I believe this was a great find. We are using this mattress as our daughter's first bed and she seems to like it. However, we've laid on it several times and wish we need to replace our mattress because this one is so comfortable. When we do need a new mattress, we hope these are still available on amazon, we would order it in a heartbeat. Can't beat the product for the price!
Good buy, some caveats May 3, 2007 David J. Delaurant (Fresno, CA USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
FYI: This review was written based on an entirely different price than today's! The current price is nuts: you could buy three memory foam mattress toppers and a 4" conventional foam foundation for well under $200 and get the same result. Good: This is indeed a usable memory foam twin mattress for $149.99, less than half the going price for a Tempurpedic etc. Has been a great improvement for my back! Not as good: You get a block of memory foam, a block of regular foam, a mattress _PAD_ (not a cover -- a cover encloses the entire mattress unit), and an extra, very thin irregular square of memory foam laughingly referred to as a pillow. I suppose you can find a use for the "pillow", but just don't mistake it for a _real_ pillow. You'll need to buy a real mattress cover to protect the foam -- I got a sturdy fabric futon cover locally for another $30, but you can get something simpler at Target for under $15. Just be aware that you'll still need a real cover to keep the two foam blocks properly enclosed. Not a big complaint, but know that the photo is a little misleading. FYI: Memory foam is latex, and this product is factory-new. That means your room will smell like a new latex paint job for a few days as this part of the mattress airs out. If this is a problem, plan ahead and air the mattress in another room before using. Real gripe: This had the all-time worst packing for shipment I've ever encountered. It is encased in a plastic bag, folded and compressed and wrapped with clear tape and jammed into two boxes. While nothing here is harmed by being compressed, opening these taped bags is almost guaranteed to 1) injury to self with knife or sissors, and/or 2) damage to contents. You cannot simply rip the bags open due to the strong tape. Since the tape is compressed, cutting it causes the foam to pop out violently in the presence of sharp cutting tools. Keep bandages on hand and take valium before tackling!
