5 out of 5 stars I miss my fridge   March 12, 2008

This fridge is awesome! I originally bought it at Target for my cross country move/drive. It kept my food and drinks cold while on the road, and after I arrived in California (from Massachusetts) 10 days later, I kept it as my main fridge in my apartment until I could get around to buying a full-sized fridge. Six months later, I'm still using this thing! Yeah, it's sad that I had to use such a small fridge as my only fridge for half a year, but if you pack it right, it can hold a ton of food. It kept a can of soda, half a dozen eggs, lunch meat, a bottle of chili sauce, salsa, and maybe something else all at the same time! (I cooked exactly enough for each meal, and kept a lot of food that didn't need refrigeration like pasta and unopened jars of pasta sauce, Betty Crocker complete meals in a box, etc.). Once I finally upgraded to a full size fridge, I took this guy to work and kept it on my desk for my drinks where it stayed for about a year running continuously (which I believe the manual says not to do, but hey as long as you defrost it every couple weeks...) before it died. Ah, the memories...

5 out of 5 stars Works well for the office   November 1, 2007

I've had one of these for two and a half years. It's worked very well considering that it's been running continuously for that entire time. Well, it died today and I'm planning on buying another. If you're thinking, "but it died after only two and half years" consider that it's been under a desk for the entire time, running non-stop. Also consider that my wife has the same model which has been running continuously for over five years. It just plain works.

Running continously, it does have to be "defrosted" every two weeks or so. Simply turn the unit off for five or ten minutes and pull the ice off of the cooling platter. It's really no big deal. It's also rather quiet with just a small vent fan.

It can be used as a stand up or on its side as a chest (which is what I did). On it's side it'll hold a six pack of drinks.
