Product Description BreathKey is the smallest and lightest breathalyzer in the world, but it is big on features and quality. Unlike other bulky breathalyzers, it easily fits on a keychain so you can take it with you wherever you go. And it is the only consumer breathalyzer at any size or price that has a fuel cell alcohol sensor, the same type that is used in police equipment. It is FDA certified, and has a lifetime battery that is good for many years of daily use. It also has an advanced backlit display with simple plain English prompts. One button operation gives results in seconds.

BreathKey August 18, 2008 I have always wondered what a BAC of 0.08 was for me. I am not a heavy drinker but the only other way to find out that I know of is through our legal system and I have no intention of using that path. After receiving my BreathKey, I did a few experiments and discovered that 0.08 is way lower than I thought! Great product!
I'm a drinker... July 31, 2008 I'm a heavy drinker. I bought this unit based on it's reviews for it's accuracy. I'm disappointed. Granted all (I've done my research) commercial Breathalyzers I've researched seem to have their quirks- take a deep breath then blow slowly, don't inhale then blow normally, etc. I don't even know at this point if police breathalyzers can be considered legal, because they all, at least the commercial ones, seem to come down to these rules- you can't consume any alcohol, food, drink or cigarettes within 20 minutes of the test. Now, as I've said, I'm a heavy drinker, and I'm 43 years old, but I've never had a DUI, or any alchol related encounter with the police... but based on this weird 20 minute rule, I'm going to assume that the police can't even give you a breathalyzer test until 20 minutes after they've stopped you... does anyone know if this is what they do?
pretty cool July 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really like this product. it does what is says it will. It's pretty cool to quantify how drunk you are, to see how fast you get drunk, and most useful how quickly you sober up. By the way the upper limit of .2 is plenty high. I love this thing.
At first I was a frustrated that "lifetime battery" meant you just can't change it, and it will last a few years. I've heard from one of their representatives that if you send it in for recalibration, they will replace the battery, which you cannot replace yourself. So that is inconvenient, but not the worst thing ever. After hearing this I've edited my review; however, I cannot edit my star-rating. Oh well.
Worked really well June 19, 2008 I bought the breathalyzer for my daughter who just turned 21 so she would know when she'd had too much to drive. It works easily and accurately and has been a really big hit at parties. People are amazed at how much they've "really" had to drink
Seems likes its doing a good job. May 31, 2008 I've had the breathkey for a month now. I love that it is so small. Its always on my key chain. I don't have to be out somewhere and say, "Oh, dang, I should've brought that breathalyzer with me." It gives a reading to the thousandth and I usually feel like its pretty accurate. It takes a minute to give the reading, so its not that great as a party toy. But if you need it to see if you should drive or not, its good to keep you responsible. (Or keep your friends responsible) Whenever we have people over at our house I just say, "Nobody's driving away till they give it a blow." But you definitely have to wait 15 minutes after your last drink or else it will probably read high. My only complaint is that every once in awhile it says .000 when I know for a fact that that's not true. Its happened to me three times out of probably 30 or 40 tests.
