Product Description The RMR-C450 will visually and audibly notify you of police radar and laser guns attempting to read your vehicles speed. The RMR-C450 will also scramble all radar and laser signals from a police radar or laser gun, making it virtually impossible for police to read your vehicles speed. The RMR-C450's radar and laser detector will cover your vehicle a full 360 degrees while the radar & laser jamming portion will cover the front of your vehicle 180 degrees for unbeatable protection. The RMR-C450 is a passive device and completely legal in all states except California, Nebraska, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Virginia and Washington D.C (certain restrictions may apply in certain states - check with your local authorities).

RMR-C450 gets two thumbs up from my lead foot! October 15, 2008 A. Berger (College Station, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this retail for about $300 over 3 years ago and the only thing I regret is not getting it sooner. Prior to this nifty little device I had amassed in excess of 20 speeding tickets in about 7 years. TX decided to switch to a points system so I couldn't just keep paying to play as they say. I have always owned a radar detector.. had windows broken for the higher end ones which BTW the discreet look of this detector (and JAMMER) plus the fact that [expletive]ing car thieves don't know about them keep your windows in tack. So how many moving violations have I received since the RMR-C450 in the last 3 years? Only one, for running a red light and well the cop didn't need the radar gun on for that one :) And just to be clear, still driving the same cop magnet mustang, same lead foot, same locations. I have flown by speed traps pulling triple digits and not even been chased down. I have seen cops messing with their radar guns after pointing them at me like something is wrong. It is a good detector although I doubt it is the best but I also doubt the detector part is what many people really buy this device for.. If mine broke today I would order a new one tomorrow. [...]It is cheaper than your next speeding ticket.. what more do I have to say?
rocky mountain radar rmr-c450 October 4, 2008 carson (alabama) This is my third rocky mountain radar purchase. My last one broke after several years of hard use. After getting my first traffic ticket in years I ordered this new one. It is great and I highly recommend it. Does it scramble radar and lasar signals, I don't know. What I do know is I do not get tickets when I am using it.
Dismal performance is not worth it at a fraction of the cost September 12, 2008 Robbie (Arizona) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Repeatable testing shows the RMR C450 (and the C430) both perform in the 10-15 percentile range for detecting K and Ka radar which comprises 98%+ of radar use in the US. A top notch choice in the 90+ percentile range would be Escort, Beltronics, or Valentine at $400+. However, A Bel Vector 940 or Whistler Pro 78 can be had for this same price range and operate in the 60-70 percentile range of performance. In addition, testing the RMR units show that the "scrambling" feature has zero effect on either radar or LIDAR (laser) speed measurement devices used by law enforcement. For those that believe in the "scrambling" feature, if you can get it to work in a controlled environment, there's a guy willing to pay you $50,000. That offer has been out there for years, and so far, not one person has been able to show that RMR's "scrambling" claim has any merit.
Annoying Voice - Cannot disable - Returned August 15, 2008 C. G. Owen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unit has very annoying voice. You can disable voice alerts, but every time you power on, it goes through a self test and the voice comes on and describes all the bands (you cannot disable this). I purchased 2 of these and returned both. I then purchased their unit RMR-C435 which is the identical unit but does not have voice. Have been pleased with it.
Saved my butt!!! July 30, 2008 James Westphal (CA) My friends and I have been using RMR's products for years. It has saved our collective butts on numerous occaisions! Would highly recommend and Amazon.com was the cheapest website we found. There is nothing better in this product line.
