Solid headphones! August 29, 2008 The V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds are very nice headphones, indeed. They not only come in a variety of colors, but also deliver in performance. The bass produced out of these little buddies are great! Not only is the sound great, but they also block out the outside noise as well. They're great for when you're working out or just listening for kicks and giggles. I recommend these headphones to anyone who's looking for something that's not too expensive, but still produces great sound.
Good headphones all around!
DO NOT BUY!!!! August 28, 2008 I am on my third pair - yes that's right - my third! While the head phones are good when they are working and while the company has replaced them at no charge (shipping to the company was out of my pocket), they . all stopped working within months of receipt. I don't abuse them, I used them about 2 hours a day, they are not near water, they were not stepped on, nothing, not even a torn wire cover, not even a scratch. It was the same problem each time - I couldn't hear out of one earbud. I refuse to continue to use their product. They will not offer a credit or an exchange for something better. I have decided to buy a Sennheiser, which I was originally looking to buy but it was not available.
excellent sound quality, great bass, and durable! August 28, 2008 When it comes to in ear headphones, it's a challenge to find something comfortable that offers great sound quality and great bass even at higher volumes. These toast to all three. It's actually hard to distort these with high bass/ volume which means you can pump your music the way you like without sacrificing the low end. I also wear these for hours at a time without any ear pain or fatigue.
The only drawback would be that they isolate your ear to the sound using a "plunger," so you need to exercise caution if you are running around at night with these in as you cannot hear what is around you. Certainly not knocking the product though, this is what was intended and is the reason for the fabulous audible experience they provide.
OK Untill they break...twice!!! August 27, 2008 These are amazing headphones for their price. To my knowledge their wires hold up for at least a year, but at almost exactly a year the sound stops out of the right earpiece. This is a big problem. Sure they replace it for free, but its a 1 month process from sending it back to recieving the new ones. Luckily I have an old torn up pair of sony fontopias laying around. Their Customor service is pretty horrendous, but at the end of the day, they did give me 2 free pairs. But it cost me 2 months.
At the end of the day I recommend unplugging your headphones when you stow them because when you leave them plugged in they tend to loose sound in one ear.
Take some getting used to, no real noise reduction August 24, 2008 I bought these earphones for jogging, after my run-of-the-mill Ipod earphones wore out. At first, I thought I had received the wrong earphones: tinny sound, no detectable additional bass. I considered returning them, but as I fiddled with them, I realized I had to push the bud well into my ear canal to get the full effect; which does provide good bass and decent sound. The "noise cancellation" is merely the result of the earbuds being pushed into the ear; I don't think there are any special electronics involved. I'm not sure the intrusiveness of the design is very good for my (or your) hearing long-term. It's also nearly impossible to keep the earphones in place while you're running. The best use I have found for them is on the plane: if you push them in and keep them clamped in you'll manage to somewhat drown out the roar of the jet engines. [Divx movies have notoriously low sound levels]. Overall, I find most earphones to be vastly overpriced. These are no exception, but if you intend to use them while stationary, they will serve their stated purpose. If you're active, you may want to consider those nifty "over-the-ear" earphones engineered to stay in place as you move.
