Worked like a charm September 3, 2008 I just bought a Remington 10-Inch chainsaw last week and used it for the first time and it did great. I have 3 tall Washington Palm trees in my front yard that had not been trimmed in quite a while before I purchased my home. The dead palm fronds almost become petrified so are very hard to cut. I guess I violated safety rules but I had to use my extention ladder to reach the dead fronds and even then extended the chainsaw up to reach them. I thought the chainsaw was very balanced and pretty easy to handle. It cut through the palms fronds easily though my shoulders did get tired about half way through the second tree. I was holding it above my head the entire time. Considering that I had been quoted $100 by a lawn service to cut the dead palm fronds for me I just about paid for it with the first use. I would recommend it to others.
Great little pole saw September 3, 2008 Had several trees in the backyard that had grown to the point where they were brushing up against the house. Had a tree in the front yard that had grown to the point where it was completely blocking any view of the house from the front. The quotes that I received for pruning these trees were very expensive. I purchased this little pole saw for about $100 dollars and completed the pruning in about two days. The saw performed as expected and saved me a great deal of money.
Not bad for the price. Trees are lookin good. August 1, 2008 I've read a few other reviews. And I agree. The little guy works good, but is top heavy on the pole. And does tend to drip oil, even when not in use.
But considering I paid my landscapers around $300.00 for 20 minutes worth of work trimming six to eight, 5 inch by 6 maybe 8 foot limbs last summer. This pole saw is a bargain.
And using it as a hand held unit. Worked great. Zipped right through the cut down limbs. Makes me wish I still had a wood burning fireplace. As opposed to gas logs.
Just tell your neighbors, you had tree trimmers out to do the pruning. Or your new pole saw will be everywhere but in your garage.
This little machine does the work July 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used a number of trimming devices to cut limbs around my property. This little machine made short work out of some limbs I wanted to get down that were either too high...or too thick to cut with other means. Its easily assembled or disassembled and it cuts through like butter. Easy to handle while its in action, and easy to handle when its made its cut. I'm very pleased with this saw.
Not bad at all... June 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
OK...so I'm too old, fat and weak to stand on ladders and hold my 18 inch McCulloch sideways and trim bushes. After reading reviews here I picked the Remington 10 inch pole mounted chainsaw to give a run. I am only half-way through the job and if this thing gets it done then breaks it was worth the $100. Oil can be a bit leaky but you have to monitor how much you are pumping it. So far so good...I wish I bought one of these years ago. It's actually suprisingly powerful as well and this particular model lets you detach the saw to use by hand.
