Amazon.com Product Description Tame that tree with Remington's Branch Wizard electric pole pruner. At a mere 6-1/2 pounds, it weighs up to 50 percent less than manual pole pruners. Powered by a hearty 6 Amp motor, the saw can cut branches up to 6 inches thick, while its nearly 7-foot-long fiberglass pole offers plenty of reach. Operation is quick and easy, as is trimming in tight spaces. Other features include a low-kickback chain, a 6-inch guide bar, a non-slip grip, a trigger lock to prevent accidental starting, and instant start with no pull cords. It's also quieter than gas-powered models. The tool comes with a 1-year warranty.

Jay June 1, 2008 I bought this pole chain saw to keep my palm trees trimmed. This saw met almost all my expectations, it cuts well, its balanced for easy control and is simple to put together from their shipping configuation. I would have given it a five star rating if the pole would telescope.
Remington Branch Wizard Better than expected May 21, 2008 This arrives in a very big box just about all put together. The final stages of the assembly (connecting the bar and chain was a bit confusing) but once finished, I found the ergonomics of this comfortable and easy to maneuver.
We tried this out trimming some dead wood from tall, overgrown Hemlocks. I was impressed at the ease of use. In fact, once i got comfortable maneuvering around, it was so easy to use we cut more than we started out to. It feels powerful and has a good reach.
From reading through these reviews I didn't know what to expect, and this Branch Wizard worked much better than I expected. It does seem to be constructed geared towards occasional around the yard type of jobs and not built for heavy duty everyday use. But, like me, if light duty yard work is what you will be using this for, you should be pleased.
Internal gear broke after only 4 hours of use May 13, 2008 If you want something that lasts and is repairable, you should avoid this model.
I used it to trim oak and fir branches well within the size limitations it was supposed to handle. I even religiously stopped, let it cool down, adjusted the chain tension and oiled it frequently. Nonetheless, after about only 4 hours of use, the chain started 'slipping' as if some sort of clutch mechanism was not engaging. After contacting Remington, I was told the problem (a stripped gear) is internal and not repairable. Then the person clarified his statement saying it's less expensive to replace than repair it.
So, if you plan to do anything more than lightweight pruning, this product may disappoint you.

Remington Pole Branch Wizard November 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This pole saw does the job for which it is intended. I was able to easily remove limbs without a great deal of climbing and repositioning ladders, etc. The pole saw is rugged, efficient, and meets all my performance expectations. It's a winner.
