The adjustable high output level can compensate for minor hearing loss, and the auto-tuning mechanism with memory function finds crisp, clear music. The self-learning automatic level control provides optimum signal reception. Power comes from NiMH batteries that are recharged by simply putting the headphones on their transmitter base that can be mounted to a wall. A charge lasts for 23 hours. The RS 140 is backed by a two-year warranty.

If you deal with someone with hearing loss these are for you!!! December 3, 2008 M. Steiner (Minnesota) I have been looking for a product like this for a long time. My father has hearing loss in both ears but it is worse in his right, so every time we have a family gathering he would have the TV volume up to blaring and then everyone else would scream over the top of the TV. It got to the point where my father would go hide in the bedroom to watch TV because we would complain that he had it to loud. I read alot of reviews and picked these and I am sooooo happy I did. #1 it has dual ear volume controls so he can just turn up the volume in one ear so he doesnt destroy the hearing in his other ear. #2 they completely cover the ear so you barely hear background noise, which is a good and bad thing. For someone like me with decient hearing it is fine I can just barely hear the conversation and pipe in but for someone like my father, he is oblivious and you have to almost get up and waive your hands to get his attention. #3 The are super easy to charge, you just hang it on the little stand and away you go. My father is very happy with them and my family is also very happy that we can hold a converstion without walking away with a headache from the TV being so loud and screaming! TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY!!!!
Excellent Product But November 24, 2008 Spur (SC USA) Product has so far performed as expected except that with my head against a pillow, the controls can be moved unintentionally.
RS 140 Headphones November 16, 2008 Richard J. Primont As an avid work-out enthusiast in my garage gym I thought I would try wireless headphones so I could listen to music or watch movies while I exercised, which spares my family the sound of loud music coming from the garage and enables me to hear all the sounds over the noise of a teadmill. Thus far the RS140's have performed admirably without any glitches. They sound OK though as an audiophile I could wish for a higher end performance. But for the money, getting wireless capability with what is at the least quite decent sound works for me.
Best I've tried. November 9, 2008 Richard S. Gargurevich (Georgetown, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried the RS-130's, but didn't like the open-air design, since I was trying to shut out some of the machinery noise in my shop. I also tried the SoundOn ones from Costco.com, but their range and battery life were terrible. The range of these is excellent. I can get clear reception even in adjacent buildings as long as I stay clear of large metal objects. The farthest point is about 160' away, through several walls! The sound isn't as good as some headphones I've tried, but it's good enough to keep. I mostly listen to talk radio through the internet, so the compression feature actually makes the spoken words easier to understand, however, it makes music sound like crap, so I turn it off for music. Definitely a good buy for the price.
