Product Description Recommended as a food source for orphaned or rejected kittens or those nursing, but needing supplemental feeding. Also recommended for growing kittens or adult cats that are stressed and require a source of highly digestible nutrients. Directions: Orphaned Kittens: All kittens should receive the queen's milk for at least two (2) days, if possible. The colostrum milk provides extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some diseases. Reconstituted KMR Liquid may be fed at a daily rate of two (2) tablespoons per four (4) ounces (? lb) of body weight. The daily feeding rate should be divided into equal portions for each feeding. Kittens' needs will vary and the amount fed will need to be increased or decreased, depending on the individual. Small and weak kittens should be fed every three (3) to four (4) hours, while larger kittens will do well when fed every eight (8) hours. Weigh the kittens three (3) times a week to assure adequate feeding. Kittens from large litters should be supplemented with KMR. Feed at room temperature. Consult a veterinarian for advice. Food Supplement: Feed KMR Liquid as a food supplement for growing kittens, show cats, old or convalescing cats at a rate of one (1) tablespoon per 5 lbs (2.2 kg) of body weight. Pregnant and Lactating Queens: Mix KMR Liquid into the daily ration at the rate of two (2) tablespoons per 5 lbs (2.2 kg) of body weight until two (2) weeks after queening.

| Customer Reviews:
Excellent support for lactating momcat August 22, 2008 anonymous123 GREAT PRODUCT <<-- THE CANNED LIQUID. THE POWDER "EQUIVALENT" IS LESS EXPENSIVE AND COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, ALL BUT COMPLETELY SPURNED BY MOTHER OR KITTENS. I taste-tested it myself and it tastes completely different. Long testimonial: The two vets who said, "If your stray female cat is THIS old and hasn't been pregnant yet, she's obviously spayed but I just can't find the scar" and who said, "The internet says some females don't mature until 24 months? HAW HAW HAW!!!" were... ahem... wrong. So when two local toms knocked up 2-year-old Girlie Cat, she had to tolerate an owner of only neutered cats who has never even SEEN kittens younger than 8 weeks old. I had no clue how much nutritional support a lactating momcat needs. Four weeks postpartum, she was a 9-lb mom feeding 4.5 lbs of kittens. Despite eating HEAVILY and sucking down all the Half-and-half my housemate could pour for her, she began losing conditioning and her kittens began experimenting with crunchies from the Adult Bowls. I didn't know precisely what this meant, and the internet was no big help. I thought maybe some cats just wean early. So I replaced the adult crunchies with kitten chow softened with some KMR. As soon as I opened the KMR, Girlie Cat began sucking it down desperately. I immediately opened the tap for her. 36 ounces (3 big cans) and 1.5 days later, she had regained significant weight and returned to contentedly breastfeeding her contented kittens, who did not touch crunchies again until about the 6th week. They all still love KMR liquid, and I'm still giving the straight stuff to momcat, but I'm transitioning the babies to a mix of KMR liquid + KMR 2nd step powder mixed with kitten chow now that they're in their 7th week.
