 Small but powerful August 10, 2008
Even though this had to be assembled I was impressed with it's look.
I have a larger Remington and like it's power. So the smalled one will work for small jobs. Also it takes 30 weight oil. Simple enough.

All I can say is the item I bought from you a remington electric chain saw is the motor burned up the first time I use it......It was and is not worht the time to send it back.....sorry not god product...

Factory Reconditioned Remington 14-Inch 9 Amp Electric Chain Saw #099178R
I was looking for a small electric chain saw to clean up our yard after storms had snapped some dead oak trees. This saw cut through a 8 inch trunk with no effort. It is great for cutting wood for our fire pit. For a little saw it has lots of power. The price was at least 10.00 less than a new one at the local Lowes. Don't be afraid of buying reconditioned- at least you know it was checked and works.

good replacement for the unit that failed on my pole saw. the internal teeth on the plastic chain drive gear stripped out and i could not find a replacement gear.

When I took delivery of the Factory Reconditioned Remington 14-Inch 9 Amp Electric Chain Saw, I noticed there was a bolt and a screw missing. They were for the hand guard and the blade. Luckily I had some spare hardware in my workshop! It also had poor instructions and no chain oil. I had some left over from my old gas chain saw so I lucked out again! Once I had it assembled (two tries due to poor instructions)...this chain saw really surprised me. I used it to clear some rather large (8") branches that had fallen in a storm. This saw chewed right through and wanted more. I had no idea these electric chain saws had that much power. If you are not dropping large trees, this may be the tool for your next storm clean-up!
