Amazon.com Review You'll get great results with this Black & Decker heavy-duty Edge Hog landscape edger, one of the easiest-to-use pieces of equipment we've come across. You'll be thrilled with how quickly you can get to work, as assembly takes only a few minutes. This is an electric model, so you'll need an extension cord and an electric outlet handy, but you won't have to deal with gas or oil. And it's so quiet you can edge at any time of day--even early Saturday mornings--without worrying about waking up the neighbors. We found the Edge Hog has plenty of power in its 2-1/4-horsepower motor for both edging and trenching, and it's easy to switch from one to the other by simply raising or lowering the edge guide. The edger weighs only 12 pounds, which allows for easy transportation and great maneuverability around curved paths, but makes it more difficult to maintain a straight line when you're tackling a lawn that hasn't been edged in a while. If you're digging out quite a bit of dirt along with the edge you're creating, it takes some effort to keep the unit stable. Undoing a screw toward the front of the edger and raising or lowering its leading wheel easily adjusts the depth of the edge groove you're making along with your edge. The unit can also be adjusted to fit the height of the user more comfortably by changing the angle on the guide handle. The blade requires only a pull of the trigger to start instantly and, unlike many gas models, stops as soon as the trigger is released---an important safety feature.

Exceeded my expectations! September 7, 2008 I am amazed how well this little machine can cut through the toughest overgrowth (6") on my driveway. I had no problem handling it. I was looking at gas edgers, and am so glad I bought this model. Just make sure you buy plenty of electric cord.
perfect for what we need September 4, 2008 This edger works great and is inexpensive. Easy to assemble and sturdy enough to do the job. We had not edged for a while because we didn't have an edger. Used a weed eater instead to try to edge. First we found out that we had lost about 6 inches of driveway because of overgrown grass and second we realized we could not get as clean an edge as we did with this edger. It took awhile to initially edge since we were cutting so much grass but it was well worth it.
Black and Decker Edger August 29, 2008 Pretty cheap item but does get the job done probably as well as an expensive edger.
Works really well... August 28, 2008 I have used this product only once and it is far superior to the Ryobi that I had before it. It is easy to use and works very well. I use it on a small lawn but due to the electric cord attached to it I don't think it would be appropriate for a large lawn. My only concern is how well it will hold up over time. I had another Black and Decker product (a hedge cutter) and it was flimsy. I think that people who buy this product will find that it is good value for the money.
Great tool, great price August 16, 2008 Great value. Edger works great. I got tired of buying gas edgers and having them break down. Plenty of power, works just like the product description.
