Amazon.com Product Description The Black & Decker cordless grass shear gives you power in a compact design for all your detailed garden work, especially trimming around delicate flower beds, small areas around trees, or hard to reach places around fences and walls. This grass shear uses a 4.8-volt NiCad rechargeable battery to give you cordless convenience; the battery will run for approximately 30 minutes on one charge and comes with a 16-hour external battery charger which plugs easily into any household outlet. The 3-inch ground hardened blades are made to stay sharper longer and provide precision performance; the lock-off button prevents accidental start-ups. This grass shear is ergonomically balanced in a lightweight design (it weighs a little over 2 pounds) to improve comfort and control during use; it is backed by a 2-year warranty. This grass shear also accepts the Black & Decker upright extension handle (sold separately) for more comfortable standing use and greater reach.

Cordless Grass Shears July 4, 2008 R. Obert (Pennsylvania) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
They are less efficient than I expected. The cutting quality is poor. Next time I'll opt for a goat
Big waste of $ - Junk June 28, 2008 Teresa A. Van Dyck (Clayton, Delaware USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I get about 5 minutes of use even though they've been charging for weeks. It constantly jams. The button doesn't lock in place which would become tiresome if it ran longer than 5 minutes. This is junk.
happy clipper June 16, 2008 Robert P. Pagano (Sudbury, MA) Perhaps B&D shipped some of these shears with defective batteries as I'm reading so many unhappy customer reviews. I bought these shears at the beginning of last summer and they run superbly, with battery life easily at 1 hour of continuous cutting. I have no problem cutting through heavy grass either. I leave mine on the charger all summer, then put them away for the winter. I oil the blades periodically and that's about it. I had a ten year old B&D clipper before these and I couldn't kill them.
You're better off pulling grass with tweezers June 14, 2008 SEAM (Canton, Ohio USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had the misfortune of having these lousy shears for two seasons (Ohio). I purchased these shears to trim grass around objects I didn't want to use the string trimmer around. The blades bind even in thinner sections of grass. This is due, in part, to very sorry power. In its second season of use, the battery lasts about 5 minutes after a full charge. The blades are also very dull. Black & Decker isn't my favorite brand of tool, but it usually doesn't produce junk like this. Stay away.
Don't waste your money May 26, 2008 D. J. DeRochier (Edmonds, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Even with a full charge, this feeble trimmer jams if you try to cut more than a few blades of grass. It is a completely inferior product. I can not find the receipt so mine is headed for the trash. I wouldn't even give this product to charity it is so bad.
