Great productAugust 29, 2008 This dash mount makes it really easy to move the unit from vehicle to vehicle. In most situations it stays put, but sometimes if the dash is severely sloped and the road is rough it shifts while driving, requiring constant adjustments. However, overall I am pleased with it.
Low-profile, but does the job!August 24, 2008 I have to admit, when I opened the box, I was skeptical. This mount was so small I doubted it would work. Much to my delight, the small weights do their job and keep the GPS (the Garmin Streetpilot is rather "chunky") perfectly stable, even going around those sharp exit ramps on the interstate. I haven't had it move once and am very glad I made this purchase - dashboard mount works much, much better in our car than the windsheild suction cup.
Okay, ButAugust 24, 2008 I shouldn't have needed to buy this second mount. The first had one suction cup that kept losing its suction. The new mount has three flat pods with lead (I think) in them. It is better but it still slides a bit. I usually put the GPS on the seat or center console and rely on the voice directions rather the the screen.
What took so long?August 17, 2008 This item is so much better than the suction cup mount that came with the Garmin Street Pilot. Its design allows us to place the GPS unit in the safest and best possible spot in the car for use while on the road. It is well worth the money spent and easy to use and store, too.
Garmin Dashboard Mount ROCKS!August 9, 2008 I had been using the suction cup mount that came with my Garmin c330 until it had fallen from the windshield often enough to break the wiring in the harness. So I opted for the friction based dash board mount as a replacement. It's easier to see, more convenient for placement, holds the c330 securely and is easily dismantled for storage. Suction cups left rings on the windshield that were a dead giveaway to potential thieves that there was a GPS in my car. I don't have to worry about that any more. Thanks for a great item!
