I use it when the GPS is connected for long periods of time to the computer, during downloads of Points of Interest (POIs) or firmware upgrades; those critical times when you need to have a stable, reliable power source.
why did they stop shipping this in the box with the GPS?October 9, 2008 Obviously this is the same charger that used to ship with the 300/600 Nuvi series. It works fine and is a great convience. I am annoyed that i had to buy it seperately but happy with it's functionality.
Why leave it out of the box? ;-) Yeah I know.
