This is the second time I have purchased this exact gate I had the fitst one for about six years before a dog chewed it up. I like it because it does extend to cover a sizable opening or you can make it fit a single door opening. Also, the fact that you can swing it out of the way totally when not in use is a good feature. I would recommend this gate.

I picked this gate to create a multiple option road block for mine and my daycare kids at the intersection of my living room, kitchen, and hallway on my first floor. All of these were wider than normal spaces and I wanted something that could fold up off to the side when not in use. I like it for it's purpose, it works, but it does warp a bit, making it hard to sometimes get into the locks, and the locks are NOT suited for 4 years plus - very easy to get undone... maybe some 2 and 3 year olds could do it, too... Just so you know. :) But ok gate for our purpose. (I'm always around when gate is in use, so I'm there to fend off the bigger kids.)
Great gate for the bottom of Deck Stairs April 19, 2010

I purchased this to keep the kids in the yard and off the deck. Our deck is about 3ft high, and our stairs are 4 ft wide. It was very easy to install just 4 eye hooks, and best off all comes off easy so I don't have to leave it outside in the elements!! Although my 3 1/2 year old figured out how to open it before I had it totally installed, it still works great for the littler kids I was worried about on the stairs anyway!!! Great product for the money. We were considering spending the $100 on the aluminum deck version from one step ahead. Glad we found this one instead!

I love these because when your not using them you just fold them up. The only thing is that you have to use the screw in bolts, so they make a hole in your wall. I love them though, and used them a lot!!
