I tried several gates for a high traffic area and had to return a couple. This one was perfect. Opens and closes easily and very tall.
 Arrived damaged despite intact packaging March 8, 2010

This gate arrived with significant scuffs in a variety of places where parts rubbed against one another inside the packaging. They rubbed through the enamel and the metal beneath rusted. The rust seems to have permanently stained some plastic pieces, and of course, there are rusty spots in at least seven areas of the gate. Sadly, we opened this when our daughter was old enough to need it, and the return window has closed.
The box was in fine shape, but obviously the parts were not packed in a safe and secure manner.

I bought this mainly to keep my dog out of the bedrooms. I have a baby too so this will help keep her from crawling too far. It was easy to put up and easy to open with one hand. Which I use one hand a lot because I am caring my baby. It sure is better than the little baby gate I originally had up. I like that I can use it in most of my doorways if I need to since it is adjustable.

This gate is absolutely fantastic. It has been through three toddlers and 2 dogs and is still going. We have used it both as a permanent mount and pressure mount. Although my kids are old enough we continue to use this gate for the dogs. My American Bulldog jumps on it and it still holds strong.The top latch recently broke but the bottom one still holds and that is enough to hold back the dogs. The broken latch on the top and the fact that it isn't as pretty as it once was is the reason I am buying this gate again. We will continue to use the old one but in a part of the house that is not as viewable, like the laundry room. Also until about a year ago the auto latch worked perfectly. I have been using baby gates for the last 19 years and this and one other gate with a foot peddle are my absolute fav's! You CAN NOT go wrong with this one.

This gate is everything I hoped it would be. I use it as a dog gate. It safely keeps my dog in the laundry room. I do add extra closing support with a bungie cord. However, it closes very well on it's own. It is very sturdy and it was easy to put up.
