4 out of 5 stars Great dog pack!   July 12, 2007

I just got mine yesterday (ordered from a different website, but same product), and put it on my dog. He loves it! He feels like he is important when he wears it. The funniest thing is that when he wears it, he doesn't realize that he's wider than normal, so he tries to go places he doesn't fit, but I think he'll get used to it and stop doing that eventually. Anyways, the pack seems to be made out of material that will last a long time. Tested the water bowl and it holds water just fine, but make sure you put the water in the water bowl and not the food one (there are two kinds given and the water one is leak proof). I ordered the small for my 32ish pound shih-tzu/corgi cross and only have a few minor complaints:
-the belly strap is tightened all the way down, and is still loose, the chest strap fits with being tightened most of the way down, but the shoulder strap fits perfect about halfway or so tightened. I will admit that he has a smallish waste, maybe they designed it with a fat dog in mind?
-the pockets could be a little longer, but I guess most "small" dogs' backs aren't as long as mine
-the bed that comes with it is way too small, seems to be the only thing designed for a "small" dog
I don't see how the pack would ever fit a truely small dog, and if you have a medium sized one definitely order small, and a medium for a large sized dog. I bet the large would only fit mastiffs, st. bernards, and other extremely large critters. Oh, and the leash that comes with it is kind of confusing. All in all though, this pack looks like it will work wonderfully for my road/camping trip this summer, and for other trips for years to come.

2 out of 5 stars poorly made product...   January 4, 2007

Bought this for my friend's dog as a christmas gift. Gift wrap was torn apart, food&water bowl leaks, bakpack was ripped... I was very disappointed. I was glad that I didn't have to pay full price, but not sure if it's still worth $50 I paid for...
