Found Live Worms in Charcoal !!! July 25, 2010 The Wykked One (NY, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these filters and found live black worms about 1/4 inch long! The worms appeared in about a week and were clinging to the filter. I bought multiple packs, as I have more than 1 fountain and all the filters got the worms. The worms appeared in about a week. The filters are replaced regularly and even more frequently in warm weather. My cats are indoor cats and fed the best of the best food, so I know for sure the worms were in the charcoal. If you use these filters place them in boiled water for a few minutes, rinse them with hydrogen peroxide and rinse with fresh water again, also complain directly to the company! 1-877-PETMATE (1-877-738-6283) customer service.
a Must! June 29, 2010 Dorrie G. Kowalski (Los Angeles , Ca) These are a must! Easy to change and you can see by the color of the old ones that they are doing the job!
Works but not for 90 days. March 14, 2010 A. Leahy (Minneapolis) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I guess it works - the water stays clear, at least. I've seen some reviews saying the water is cloudy, but maybe they're not rinsing properly. The filter turns green after about two weeks, and after that it becomes "thready" - pieces of the filter sort of detach. I guess the filter being green means it is trapping something, so that's good, right? There is limescale left in the bowl, but not as much as I find around my humidifier filters, so I guess it is filtering lime to an extent. Would a simple piece of polyester batting work as well? Possibly. If I can figure out how to construct a frame for it, I'll try it. My cats do like the whole fountain idea though. It's almost as good as drinking right out of the faucet, apparently. They much prefer it over standing water. Of course, it's obviously not as good as a mud puddle, but we humans can only do so much.
Love It February 11, 2010 SUZI Q (MALVERNE, NY USA) While these don't last 90 days....I love them....and the feeling that my precious pup is getting clean water...I change them every month....plus I use bottled water....Good Buy...Good Value...Plus I LOVE my Pet Fountain...You Just Have to take the time to clean it....You can throw the Big Parts into the Dish Washer!!!!

What can you say about filters? It keeps out the cat hair. Works as it should.
This is the best price I could find.
