1 out of 5 stars Rust started appearing within one week, and pump failed within one month   March 11, 2010
Doug (Fort Collins, CO)
We purchased this product to get our finicky, medium-sized Catahoula to drink more water. Within one week the seams that
fuse different portions of the fountain together started showing rust, and within one month, the pump stopped working. The product looks cheaply constructed, and behaves the same. Don't waste your money.

5 out of 5 stars LOVE This product!   March 3, 2010

I have owned several of the Drinkwell fountains, and this is by FAR my favorite of the 3 we have owned. I have 3 long-haired cats and have only had 2 clogs in the year that I have owned it. The motor is silent, and has far outlasted the other 2 types of Drinkwell motors. In both of my other products the motor ended up burning out and I was no longer able to use the running water feature- with the 360 I have accidentally allowed it to run down to very low levels of water and the motor continued to run! I found them on sale at another retailer and purchased 2 backups (that also had several boxes of free filters included!). I could not be happier with this product, and my 4,3 and 2 year old cats love it too!

4 out of 5 stars Drinkwell 360 motor problems   February 20, 2010

I like the Drinkwell 360. Like how it holds quite a bit of water. Yes, you do need to clean it frequently (clogs with slime). Noticed the water flow decreasing over the months but could not figure out why. Then last week, the motor just stopped running. I THOUGHT I was cleaning it sufficiently...popped the side off and cleaned what i could. Looked all over town for a replacement pump today, with no luck. Got online to find one to order, and accidentally ran across the owners manual online. As I was flipping down the pages to see what kind of warranty it had, I suddenly noticed something I had never noticed before...the pump comes pretty much completely apart!! I had no idea..so..had never completely cleaned it. I immediately took it apart, cleaned it thoroughly, and VOILA..it works fine! Water flow is back to 'new' condition, too! So..if you think your pump is broken, or if you water flow is decreasing...take that pump completely apart and clean it thoroughly! Hope this helps someone.

5 out of 5 stars Cats Love It, So I do Too!   February 18, 2010

I have several cats. They all seem to love to drink from this fountain. You do have to clean the pump filter where the water is pulled through every two weeks or so depending what your cats like to put in the water. I have found with any thing you place water in, it will become slimy within a couple of weeks and will need to be cleaned. The same is true with this 360 fountain. The filters are way too expensive and they want you to change them every two weeks. I don't. I rinse the filter off and put it back in. If your cats put more than just their hair and slobbers in the water I think the filter will last more than the two weeks. The brush set you can buy separately to clean the fountain would make it easier to clean down the center tube but I've just used a toothbrush. If the water stops coming through the top remember you can twist the cap to slow or speed up the water flow. If that isn't working then you need to clean the pump. The pump is quiet and mine has worked perfectly. They make a connection on the wire from the pump to the plug-in adapter so you can just unplug at that junction and not pull the adapter out of the wall plug. This makes it much easier to take it to the sink and clean it. Others have said they find water on the floor. Maybe it's their cat playing. I have had no water on the floor, even at the full mark. I had the Petmate Fresh Flow fountain and did not like it at all. It always leaked water under the unit onto the floor. I was also constantly having to take the tank off and fill it up with water. So I love this fountain and think it is worth the money.

1 out of 5 stars Lasted 3 months   February 15, 2010

The cats enjoyed this fountain, but the pump broke within three months. I took care of the fountain, washed it weekly and changed the filters. The filters quickly became slimy and the replacement filters did not work as well as the original filter. A good idea, but a bad experience for me.
