Amazon.com Review "The precious present has nothing to do with wishing. The richness of the precious present comes from its own source. The precious present is not something that someone gives you. It is something that you give to yourself." The parable of The Precious Present is a quiet one to muse upon and sit with, and finally to take into your heart. Spencer Johnson, coauthor of the bestselling business classic The One Minute Manager, has created a simple path for the reader to follow in the search for peace and clarity. While The Precious Present may read like a children's book for adults, its slow pace requires the mind to quiet down so that it can really register the meaning of Johnson's words. "The Present Is Simply Who I Am Just The Way I Am... Right Now. And It Is Precious." We may be familiar with this philosophy in theory, but the experience of reading The Precious Present is truly synchronous with its message. --Jodie Buller
Product Description Discover the precious present and find yourself!
A simple story, engagingly told, The Precious Present does more than capture the heart; it is a valuable gift for anyone seeking a deeper level of fulfillment and personal happiness.
Telling a story of vital significance in today's fast-paced, competitive environment, The Precious Present will help you discover the joy in life we all seek--whether we go to Wall Street or around the world to find it.
Just as Spencer Johnson's bestseller The One Minute Manager helped rehumanize the workplace around the world, The Precious Present helps each reader rediscover his or her own humanity. This beautiful tale demonstrates the delicate art of balancing your spiritual and material needs, and shows how this goal can be maddeningly elusive--and gloriously attainable.

simply in the present September 25, 2008 K. M. Pyrros (new york, ny) I used this book for my therapy group (recovery) - It's great to use with anyone who has trouble living in the moment and may be suffering from regrets and fear. It is simple to read and face it NOT everyone is a great reader, especially in early recovery. I will continue to use it and enjoy it for myself as well, it gave me goosebumps the first time I read it.
Simple but Powerful August 28, 2008 marcowynja (Hawaii) This book is a great gift, especially for young people. The Precious Present June 20, 2008 D. Miller This is a very eye opening book you can live happy every day of your life.
The Precious Present April 8, 2008 Wende L. Standefer (Crawfordsville, IN USA) This book is excellent. I have purchased several copies to give to friends, usually have at least 1 or 2 extras.
SHORT BUT POWERFUL March 25, 2008 W. Ess (Tulsa, OK.) This is an amazingly short little book, probably takes 10 - 15 minutes to read. I had checked it out of the library, read it through twice, but decided the truth was so important that I wanted a copy in my collection to remind me occasionally of how important this is. So, yes, I am very appreciative of the message, and feel that it is very important. It calms me greatly when I am stressed or worried about the future or the past.
