Product Description
It’s summer vacation, the weather’s great, and all the kids are having fun outside. So where’s Greg Heffley? Inside his house, playing video games with the shades drawn.

Greg, a self-confessed “indoor person,” is living out his ultimate summer fantasy: no responsibilities and no rules. But Greg’s mom has a different vision for an ideal summer . . . one packed with outdoor activities and “family togetherness.”

Whose vision will win out? Or will a new addition to the Heffley family change everything?

Bought this and another in the series for my 8 year old grandson at his request. He loves this series and I see now they're making a movie with the same story line. Love it when my grandson reads!

3 out of 5 stars Thumbs up   March 5, 2010

This book is about a boy who does not know how to spend his summer so all he does is go in the house and play video games all day. With nothing else to do, Greg says this is how he wants to spend his summer; no responsibility, no cleaning, no nothing. But his mother has a different plan for him. He does not know it but his mother is getting him a dog so he can take care of it and have a good summer. The thing is, Greg doesn"t want the dog so he decides to blow it off. At the end of it all things get worked out. However Greg still feels like he is not having fun this summer so he enjoys the dog the best way he can.

I think that this is a good book because its interesting. I was like that before and I didn't know what I was going to do but at the end of the day I planned something to do. It worked out at the end and I ended up having a great summer just like Greg did in the story.

Diary of a Wimpy kid is an awesome book I rated this book only four stars because I liked it but I didn't love it. I think the author could have included more details! It is about a boy and his friend Rowly. They try to get money from doing lawn service and it turns out that they are bad at it and quit, then they said when winter comes they will do snow removal if you want to find out if that plan will work you will have to read this awesome book. ~Cookies N" Cream

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days. I give this book 5 stars I wish I could give it 10 so here is my review. Greg is playing video games all summer. He gets a dog named Sweetie. He and his best friend Rowly start a lawn service and as one rule they don't go with in 5 feet of doggie poop so they don't get the money and they have to sit in a car on a warm summer day. Then it becomes a snow removal buisness. This book has a lot of details. I have all the books. So go and buy this book please. ~MAd dAd

5 out of 5 stars Flamingnet.com Top Choice Book-definitely recommend this to everyone I know!   March 2, 2010
Flamingnet Teen Book Reviews (Baltimore, Maryland USA)
Greg Heffley is a good person. To prove it, he kicks off
the book with his New Years' resolution of helping people
improve. He starts by telling his mother that she should
eat her potato chips more quietly. Many other incidents
such as this bring Greg's father to think of military
school, which he considers a great way to make Greg more
manly. The book ends just as summer is about to begin,
setting the stage for the sequel "Diary of a Wimpy Kid:
Dog Days".

This was a hilarious book! The author's style
of incorporating humor into Greg's reasoning was something
that made me laugh out loud every time! Greg's character
was self-absorbed yet lovable and you couldn't help but
laugh at almost anything he said. The journal format of
the book was entertaining and it was a very quick read. I
was definitely recommend this to everyone I know!
