Product Description Adrienne Willis is 45 and has been divorced for three years, abandoned by her husband for a younger woman. The trials of raising her teenage children and caring for her sick father have worn her down, but at the request of a friend and in hopes of respite, she's gone to the coastal village of Rodanthe in North Carolina to tend the local inn for the weekend. With a major storm brewing, the time away doesn't look promising...until a guest named Paul Flanner arrives. At 54, Paul is a successful surgeon, but in the previous six months his life has unraveled into something he doesn't recognize. Estranged from his son and recently divorced, he's sold his practice and his home and has journeyed to this isolated town in hopes of closing a painful chapter in his past. Adrienne and Paul come together as the storm brews over Rodanthe, but what begins between them over the weekend will resonate throughout the rest of their lives, intertwining past and future, love and loss.
COMING SOON AS A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.

where's the beef December 14, 2008 Peter Paige (tucson, az) i have now read two of spark's novels and my disappointment will prevent me from reading a third. as others have stated, this book is just a cheap knockoff of "the bridges of madison county". why would an author write such a poor copy of a good story? my theory is that good old saint nick is in it for the dough. he put just enough sweet sentimentality in the story to lure in the hopeless romantics who believe that a few days of love and romance at the beach can change us into new creatures and solve all of our problems - past, current, and future. oh that life were that simple!!! you may have fooled some people, nickie, but you can't fool me.
Cheesy and highly predictable November 29, 2008 Bella (Orange, CA) I have to say the beginning of this book gave me a big warning that the writing was going to be very elementary and to top it all of a sappy love story. I like love stories which is why I picked this book up, but the writing was horrible! I can't believe this is a best selling author. I remember a few year back I read the notebook and a walk to remember and I at least liked those. I was disappointed and I wish he would have done a better job selling the reader this story.
An outstanding audio acquisition November 14, 2008 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nicholas Sparks' NIGHTS IN RODANTHE receives JoBeth Williams' fine narrative style as it provides a novel of heartache and new love. After her husband abandons her for a younger woman, Adrienne flees to the small coastal town of Rodanthe in North Carolina to tend a friend's inn there to find a major storm and a mid-aged man change her life. Their weekend together will make a big difference in this warm romance of love between very different people. An outstanding audio acquisition.
Truly Heartwarming November 8, 2008 Kay Schan I am not a person who tends to enjoy a "sappy love story" novel but I fell in love with this book after reading only about 3 pages! I couldn't put it down! It shows the true strength of love between 2 characters despite their distance apart and hardships faced in life. Truly is heartwarming... makes you laugh, cry, and just want to run to the one you love and give them a hug at the end!
excellent book November 6, 2008 F. J. Gray (Smithville, TX usa) I found the book to be very well written. Had I not seen the movie first, I would definately have gone to see asap. The book had me in tears when they had their mother and daughter talk about lost love.
