Product Description
Diane is fat and getting fatter. Until she can empty herself of all of the anger and grief and guilt that has been building up inside of her since her first love, her best love, killed himself there won't be a cookie or a pie on this earth safe from her appetite. In an effort to once again gain control of her life she starts writing letters to her long since deceased friend; hoping that they will act as the conduit back to normalcy. The letters first surface as ones of sweet memories and regret. But as she continues to write, the letters slowly become ones of self-examination and sadness. She soon realizes that she hasn't just been mourning a lost friend, but also the effects of a poverty filled childhood that had fueled them both in such different directions. As she continues her exercise in truth seeking she begins to feel hope. She hopes that her appetite will once again embrace the future rather than act only as an anchor to the past.

5 out of 5 stars You Never Cease to Amaze Me   May 27, 2006
GOBI (Santa Clarita, Ca)
Hi Diane, it's Tim. Congrats on your riveting first publication! You can find my CD at towerrecords.com entitled "Family Comes First" by Timothy Houston. The nickname you gave me, GOBI, I've used to name my multimedia company named GOBI Entertainment Production. If you'd like to turn your publication into a documentry or if you'd like to make a commercial for television to promote your publication, then I'll do it for free, I owe you that much, and then some! You can reach me @ 661-250-3967 ext 5. Let's catch up! God Bless You and be well...tim

5 out of 5 stars Beautifully written, very profound, wish it was longer!   May 4, 2006

My only complaint is that the book was not longer. I loved Diane's style of writing and related to her struggle with weight. I also felt so sad for her because of the heavy loss she carried in her heart because her soul mate took his own life at a very young age (23). As sad as the book was, it was uplifting at the end when she realized that life really has so much to offer and she would no longer allow the sadness and loss of her past to outweigh the beauty and love that was so much a part of her life in the present. Bravo!!!
