Excellent December 27, 2008 Jason C. McGeough The book came in great shape in no time at all. It actually arrived in better condition than I expected. A++
Written for the Homer simpsons of the world December 16, 2008 jasoncocobolo Not a bad book, but seems clearly taylored towards the Homer Simpson type of father out there, some advice is good, while the rest of it is almost insulting to one's intelligence, or are there really that many fathers out there that have no clue? If you have a general idea of how to be a good husband or father, dont get this book.
Unclear Advice, Not Holistically Minded December 10, 2008 Author of Healing Our Children & Cure Tooth Decay (San Jose, CA) If you like the book, "What To Expect When You Are Expecting," then you'll probably like this book. Clearly this was meant to be a male version of "what to expect when you are expecting." It's very conventionally oriented, with the author appealing to mainstream thinking, which involves a medically oriented birth, and poor nutritional guidelines. The book is very structured, and there is allot of stuff in their about money. It's funny that I have yet to see a woman's pregnancy book that discusses finances. So it's good that this book does. Most of the advice is towards the center/conservative approach to child raising and is wishy washy as it is meant to appeal to many types of readers. Review is by Ramiel Nagel author of Healing Our Children: Because Your New Baby Matters! Sacred Wisdom for Preconception, Pregnancy, Birth and Parenting (ages 0-6) & Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition (First Edition).
Excellent stuff December 2, 2008 Ram Chandrasekaran (Bloomington, IL, USA) This is a good resource for the guys. Not so technical like the Mayo or What to expect....., but it takes you through some of the fun aspects of pregnancy. Also talks about how you can do things (birth, baby furniture/clothes purchase, cord blood banking, etc etc) differently. I would say that this book contributed a bit to the confidence I had in handling things during my wife's pregnancy.
Great book for fathers-to-be October 24, 2008 J. H. Black (Indianapolis, IN) I ordered this book to get a good idea of what to expect during my wife's pregnancy. It's informative and easy to read.
