Dog training DVD Review August 6, 2008 E. Dawson (SA Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD is not near as helpful as "train your dog" which is availible on Amazon.com. The lady on the video looks like she is reading off notecards and is not a very good speaker. I think the dog was already trained also, and she didnt use a variety of dogs. The other DVD mentioned above is 100 times better. They use un trained dogs, are freidnly, and use all different breeds. The only good thing about this DVD was the menu layout. This DVD only has about 10 commands, and the other DVD has about 30.
Disappointed July 18, 2008 Jesse Steere (Martha's Vineyard, MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was obviously scripted, but the trainer seemed like she didn't bother to read it over before filming because she would speak very slow and pause at unnatural places in her sentences. I thought it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it got to be so hard to follow what she was saying in one sentence that after 5 minutes my mother and I (who were looking forward to this DVD since we ordered it) had to turn it off. And like someone else mentioned, she only used her own trained dogs in this video. Which would be ok if I ordered a video of dogs just doing commands, but it would have been nice if there were some untrained dogs in there as well. As in "this is how it should be done" with her trained dogs and then "this is what it will probably be like for everyone else with their untrained dogs" so people at home could have an idea of what to do when it doesn't go exactly right. There are some good tips in here somewhere, like the food praise as well as the verbal and tactile... When I have the patience and maybe some headache medicine I'll try to finish watching the whole thing.

I was very disappointed with this DVD, it was not helpful with training a dog with none at all. She uses her own dog that is very well trained, it would be helpful to use a dog that is not so you can see what to do in those situations. Plus her presentation needs improvement.
Fantastic October 30, 2007 Barry Jaeger 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Fantastic dog training CD. Cindi's practical approch get results in a very short period of time. I highly recommend it.
Very Helpful October 27, 2007 D. Ziegler (California) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I found this DVD to be very helpful. We have a 4 month old puppy. The training methods shown on her DVD were easy to follow and the puppy caught on quickly. I like the passive, no fail approach to Cindy's techniques. I have used them on our 14 year old Jack Russel and she caught on quickly too. Our favorite is the "Look" command.
