These guides worked just perfectly when grooming my dog for the first time. The set offered a variety of sizes that allowed me to vary the length as needed. Great prices as well!
Great set of combs. August 18, 2010

We bought these combs to clip a variety of 4-H animals, and they are perfect for the job. We needed a variety of sizes to fit on our Andis clippers, and this set has not failed us. We call these combs "guards". They fit over the clipper head to customize the length of hair left on the animal. This set probably has more than we will need, but you never know, and for the price, you can't go wrong. The guards clip firmly over the clipper head, and stay in place. If I wanted to be ultra-picky, I would say that the package they come in is a pain in the neck. It's just hard to store them in. So ours wound up loose in the tack box. But that is being ultra-picky. These guards are well-made and give you exactly what you need in a variety of situations. I recommend them.

Too many of the longer-length guides and the shortest guide isn't short enough for what i needed/wanted.

I have the Andis clippers to groom my pomeranian at home. These combs snap on pretty easily and are just as easily removed. However, as the clipper blade warms up, the ends of the comb tend to bend and become curved, leaving uneven ridges in his hair because the combs are no longer evenly spaced. As soon as you remove the comb and let them sit a while, they go back to their original shape and are evenly spaced. I don't know why they bend (the clipper blade itself is warm but not hot to the touch) but they do make it more difficult to evenly groom a dog in one easy motion. It often takes several swipes to get his hair to an even length.

Read some of the earlier reviews and was skeptical that these combs would fit my Andis AGC 2 clipper. Was delighted to find that they fit PERFECTLY and are sturdy, nice combs. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has the same clippers - they are a bit tricky to get on initially but once you get them on once its smooth sailing.
