Product Description
ZYMOX Otic is used in dogs and cats for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammation of the external ear caused by bacterial, viral and yeast infections. Treat once a day for 7 days for acute infection and once a day for 14 days for chronic infection. Do not use in conjunction with other topical ear medications or cleaners.

I have a year old Golden Retriever that I adopted in December. In January I took him to the vet because he had brown gunk in both his ears. She diagnosed it as a bad yeast infection in both ears, ulcerated in one ear. I love my vet - she doesn't immediately rush into antibiotics - she'll try something homeopathic when she can. She told me that she also has a Golden who has allergies & had ear infections. She read about Zymox & used it on her dog & said it really worked well. She gave me the Zymox with Hydrocortisone, told me to fill his ears with it, massage the ears & let him shake, then wipe the ears to make sure the pina was clean. She told me to use it every day for 2 weeks, but that because it was so bad one course would probably not be enough. We went back to see her after using it for 2 weeks. Couldn't believe how good the ears looked - the ulcers were gone & so was most of the brown gunk. She told me to keep using it for another 2 weeks to make sure the yeast infection was gone. The treatment was a success!!! It's been about 4 weeks & his ears still look great. I also purchased the Zymox Ear Cleaner since I figured my pooch was going to be a problem child & would need it too. Used it once so far & his ears are still clean.
We will be spending part of the summer on a lake (or in it!) & I will not be without the Zymox. It is a miracle worker. I told a friend whose dogs have ear problems that have cost her a small fortune about it. She was also quite pleased with it. Zymox is a lot cheaper than going to the vet every month!

My dog, Xena, is a lab/pit mix. She has always had really bad ear infections. I would be constantly cleaning her ears and she hated it. It looked like she had dark brown wax that smelt god aweful. It got to the point where the hair on the inside as well as even parts on the outside were falling out. The tips on the inside of her ears were really dry and no matter how much moisturizing lotion I put on them, they stayed dry. I was doing some research trying to see if there was anyone else who had the same problems as me with any solution that was better that just constantly cleaning her ears every other day. I came across a website that recommended zymox. I read up on all of the reviews I could find, and decided to try it before I took her to the vet, which I knew would be costly. After I finally recieved it, I used it for 14 days and even after the 3rd day her ears were 10 times better than before. The hair has began to grow back, her ears are soft and dry, and the smell is no longer there. I still put it in her ears every 3-4 days so it won't come back as well as I know she likes it because when I get it out she gets excited and sits in front of me, as compared to her running whenever I got out the ear cleaner. I would recommend this product to anyone with a dog that gets cronic ear infections. Or at least try it... I can guarentee you it's a lot cheaper than taking them to the vet for a couple hundred dollars that not everyone has.

I am completely amazed with this product. I have a standard poodle who had developed chronic ear yeast/mites followed by infection. It was just awful for at least a year. His ears were full of that smelly, disgusting black stuff. But I didn't give up hope on healing his ears. Here are a couple of things I learned. To clean that black, tar like stuff quickly, I used dish soap. Strange enough, but it cut right through it. Then I did some research and found this product and decided to give him weekly shots of ivomectrin. At first, Zymox with hydrocortisone seemed to emit a nasty smell. I think it was part of the cleaning process. After putting it into his ears everyday for 10 days faithfully, the black stuff cleared inside his ears. I did not put anything else in his ears. It was interesting that the black stuff moved away from his inner ears towards the outer ears, which I used the dish soap to break up and flush away. I took care not to get any water in his ears. His ears no longer smell. They are pink like their supposed to be. He no longer shakes or scratches and is his happy go-lucky self again. I am extremely grateful!! It was a long road but we are much happier now! Thank you from me and my sweet poodle boy!

Bought this for my newly adopted Mastiff "Millie". She was shaking her head alot and her ears smelled so I decided to give this a try. Worked right away and she's doing so much better. Great product that I'll keep around in case she has problems again.
