Product Description Keep your child in sight at all times with the Evenflo Expansion Swing Gate. It is one of best gates in terms of safety and convenience. The standout feature on the Evenflo Expansion Gate Swing is that it will expand from 24 inches to 60 inches. Talk about coverage! This Evenflo gate is also great because it fits in with most home décor. The Evenflo Expansion Swing Gate is perfect for wide areas. Five feet will certainly cover most household doorways. The Expansion Swing Gate includes a four-point hardware mounting system. It also features a one-hand release latch which will come in handy while holding a pet or another child. The hardware mounting system will keep wall damage to a minimum. This is one Evenflo product which certainly lives up to the hype. The Evenflo Expansion Swing Gate features an exclusive telescoping plastic safety rail which is designed to eliminate openings at the top of the gate.

sturdy gate, depending on what you use it for November 29, 2008 Adam Yates (Acton, California United States) This is a great gate, especially considering its price. It's not idiot proof, however: if you use it as a baby safety gate, just be careful when you close it-it has the potential to pinch fingers. Also, if used as a dog gate, the enterprising dog can chew through it, if he has a mind to. However, that said, I've had several of these gates over the years, and the chewing problem happened only once, and even then, the gate was repairable, using glue and tape. Considering the price of many of the other gates, this one is well worth the money.
easy to install September 9, 2008 M. Roll It was a challenge to find a gate large enough for my kitchen. This was very easy to install. For purpose it may have been better to purchase a plastic or metal gate. I purchased this gate for my puppy, she has started to chew the bottom of it and I am a little concerned about its durability. Overall not bad for the price, but maybe not the best choice for a pet gate.

screw in... August 1, 2008 Amber K. Smith you need to screw hooks into the wall and the baby just pushes really hard and pulls the hooks out of the wall
Love this gate July 28, 2008 C. Barber (Michigan) Use this at the top of stairs. There may be an easier gate out there for if your hands are full but I can usually easily do this one with one hand. Sometimes lining up the top and bottom to latch is a little tricky in the dark but otherwise ours is great. I love being able to use the expansion feature to make it small and out of the way to carry big stuff through. When you mount this gate it is probably going to make a big difference if you don't line the hardware up right whether or not it is easy to latch. Our hardware lines up great. I have also heard parents say their kids have tried to climb on these gates because of the holes. Mine have not (2 year old & 10 month olds) but it could happen and be dangerous.
