Customer Reviews:
Good, safe collar June 30, 2008 Emily from Minneapolis All dogs should have safety / break-away collars. We bought these collars for our dogs who like to wrestle after one dog's jaw got caught in the collar of our other dog, hurting his jaw and choking the other dog to the point where we nearly lost him. I didn't think we needed to worry about collar safety because we are almost always with our dogs and often remove the collars when we leave them home alone. This collar does what it is supposed to do and will snap if pulled on too strongly. You can easily snap it back together and put it back on your dog. Be sure to use both d-rings if you attach a leash to the collar and your dog is a puller, as he may pull hard enough to break out of the collar. We use harnesses to walk our dogs and twice now I haven't been paying attention to what I clip the leash to and he has pulled so hard that he broke out of the collar. Lesson learned and I now always look at where I'm hooking it up (to the harness rather than the collar, but if you use both rings you can safely attach it to the collar).
