We checked out the pros and cons of the 510 Roomba before we purchased. Some people had indicated that it was noisy, but we find it is much quieter than expected. It is able to get under places that haven't been cleaned and does a marvelous job. Easy to clean, but make sure you clean hair/dirt, etc. out of wheels, plus the basic dirt catchers. We are very happy with the job "Robby" does.

I bought the 510 to use between human cleanings and I am very satisfied with it: it does what it says it does. This model comes with only one lighthouse but if you are willing to move a few things around the Roomba can easily be blocked from a room. More lighthouses would be more convenient if you have extra cash on hand. Having the Roomba clean one or 2 rooms at the time, and keeping the floor as free as possible, greatly improves its cleaning ability. I don't give it 5 stars because sometimes it misses a few spots or seems to keep cleaning when it looks clean. This model also comes without the charging base but I have no problem plugging the Roomba to the recharger when it's finished. The pro of having the charging base is that Roomba goes there on its own.
In conclusion, it is not perfect but what a joy to see it do the cleaning for you!!

I've been itching to try a Roomba for years. Amazon had this on sale for $199.99 so I bought one. Roomba is easy to use, but it doesn't pick up well. It does cover the entire room, and can get into surprisingly small spaces. But it didn't get my carpet clean, and it wasn't that dirty. I suppose if you use it every day, you'd have clean carpet without having to push a vacuum. But you have to charge it and dump the bin every time you use it. I'd need one for every room! That's multiple charges and cleaning the dustbin. It's easier to just push the darn vacuum around. I really wanted to like this product, but I can't in good conscience recommend it.

The product has been working just as described. It thoroughly cleans every room in my apartment, and it's even able to go over minor stoops to get into the bathroom or kitchen. I am already recommending it to my friends and family, and I can't wait to buy a wet vac as well.
