Holds a lot of toys, takes up little space January 15, 2008 !!! (AK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this toybox knowing that it's made out of a cheap plastic and that it would take a little effort to put together. It's made by the American Plastic Toys Inc, company and I own 3 other products of theirs. My daughter is 33" tall and she can reach the top bins just fine, it isn't a very tall toy box. I bought it mainly because it had both the bins and the storage area. My daughter has a lot of big toys but some things like blocks, race cars, My Little Ponies and their accessories, tend to get lost at the bottom of big toy boxes. So this is perfect to hold little things as well. The lid comes off easily. You might as well just pull the whole lid off instead of lifting it up. There aren't any screws or holes for the top of the lid to fit into But it isn't a problem. You might want to look up some other products from this company (i.e. Homestyle Kitchen, Beauty Salon) to get a better idea of the quality of this product. The pieces are from a plastic tree mold and there are sharp knobs left on each peice, I just use a box cutter to cut off the little knobs and I find that I don't need to file them down.
