Product Description Just press the Clean button! The iRobot Roomba 530 vacuuming robot cleans more rooms, more effectively. Longer battery life allows it to clean up to 3 rooms on a single charge, and it cleans them better than ever with redesigned brushes and a stronger vacuum. Roomba navigates wirelessly under and around furniture, along walls and in corners, automatically adjusting from carpets to hard floors, carefully avoiding hazards like stairs and drop-offs. Anti-tangle technology prevents it from getting stuck on power cords, carpet fringe and other loose fibers. A larger air filter captures more allergens, and a larger debris bin keeps the dirt, dust and pet hair where it belongs. When the battery?s low or cleaning is complete, Roomba 530 will return automatically to its charging base to dock and recharge. This smart, efficient vacuuming robot will save you time and effort, while keeping your home wonderfully clean?it?s time you got one!

So helpful thing August 31, 2008 Well, I was skeptical about iRobot. Now I am convinced. It really does its job. The benefits are you can do cleanings more often when you are not at home. Pros are too obvious. Cons: - cleaning the filter and box is pretty dirty(dusty) job; - hair makes that cleaning worse as a lot of that stuff sticks on bearings;
Makes my life Soooo much eaiser!!! August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the Roomba about 6 months ago not expecting it to be much better than the old 400 series but was impressed.
The new model roomba does a much better job at not banging into objects hard like the older 400's. It is a soft touch in comparison. I also like the fact that it is much quieter than 400's. You can use it and still watch TV but yes you do still know its running about. I did notice that it will last much longer than rated. Mine runs for about 3 hrs without a charge. Please note: I do not use the virtual walls. The run time is a bit shorter when using with the walls. I am using it to clean my 2700 sq foot house and does a very good job. I use Robby my Roomba about 2-3 times a week.
Now for the bad. I have a dog that comes indoors at times. The Roomba must be cleaned after every use since the rollers and front caster wheel gets clogged up if not done after every use. I don't mind since it is cleaning a 2700 sq foot house for me. Big time saver. The side spinning brush looses its little arms for no apparant reason. I have contacted Irobot and they have redesigned it to help prevent this. My 9 month old baby found one and put it in her mouth, fortunantly I removed it from her before she choked on it. Make sure yours has the yellow arms on the side brush. The red colored ones are prone to break off.
My conclusion is no its not perfect but for the amount of time it frees up for me is soooo worth it. I am a stay at home dad with three young children. I also do all the cooking, cleaning, and house work so just to get 1 hr or so of down time is priceless. Moms out there know what I mean.
Better than expected, but consider the 560 August 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We recently received this as a wedding shower gift and have really enjoyed it.
Vacuum Performance - It seems to vacuum really well. We recently had carpet installed in part of the house, and this did a great job of getting all of the loose fibers out of the carpet. Also, I accidentally left a screw on the floor and this had no problem picking it up. The only con - which I knew going in - is that I do not believe it is hypoalergenic like some upright vacuums.
Maintenance - The unit is really easy to clean, and the bin is a cinch to empty.
Coverage - Ultimately, I think most people are sceptical that it will cover an entire room, but it really does. You can tell by the vacuum lines. Not only does it cover what you would usually vacuum but it gets under dressers, beds, etc. better than I would with an upright. The only Con is that it takes longer than a person would. A room I could vacuum in 5 minutes takes the Roomba 30. This isn't a problem for me because I start it up on my way out in the morning and come home to a clean house.
Support - I have not had any problems with the roomba yet, but most of the parts are easy to change (I mean really easy) and parts seem easy to get on Amazon or the iRobot website, so I don't anticipate having problems getting parts when needed. I really view this as a big plus because with a traditional vacuum when something breaks you have to get a new unit or take it to a costly repair shop.
Multi-room coverage - I had hoped I could leave in the morning and have the roomba vacuum the entire upstairs of my townhouse. This is not the case with this model. Unfortunately, the 530 does not distinguish between rooms so it cannot efficiently vacuum multiple rooms at once. If you get the 560 or any other model higher than the 530, they come with "lighthouses". These "lighthouses" tell the roomba where rooms are so that it doesn't leave a room until it's finished, then it goes to the next one, etc. This is a great feature (for me anyway) and I really wish I had received the 560, but I'm making do by just starting the roomba in a different room in the morning.
My New Best Friend August 3, 2008 This product deliver's everything it says it does. It picks up everything and is so easy to empty the dirt.
Love it, with one exception... July 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
which is why I rated it 4 stars versus 5. I have been very pleased with the performance of the Roomba vacuuming robot. It has as much suction as my Oreck, as hard as that might be to believe. The only real complaint I have is that the brushes have to be cleaned frequently. I know the reason that is true in my house is that I have two cats; they were the main reason I wanted something like the Roomba to help keep the floors clean in between housecleanings. How I have dealt with this issue is buying a a brush set (a two set of each brush). I change out the brushes and the Roomba keeps going, and I can clean the brushes at leisure. I would definitely recommend it. I am considering buying one for my parents for Christmas this year.
