5 out of 5 stars Low price great sound   February 22, 2007
Randy Phillips (Central Calif)
My first pair lasted a few yrs of hard use, so I just orderd 2 pairs. If u hav an MP3 player throw away the ear buds and get these. Good base, good rich sound and loud. Very comfortable I can wear them all day at work, and they stay on my head wen I bend over. If ur on an airplane their more than adequate, sound better than my $50 Aiwa noise canceling headphones.

5 out of 5 stars Good product.   January 10, 2007

The sound quality is very good. It's very comfortable to wear it.Sometimes when I take it off and leave it around my neck,my hair gets stuck by the folded part, but it depends how long the back of your hair is.It's still a good product.

5 out of 5 stars Good, Light Weight, Portable and Inexpensive   January 6, 2007
ACE- Air Combat Expert (USA)
I was looking for a pair of foldable headphones, which are inexpensive and portable. I researched a bit and finally settled for these headphones. I did read in various reviews that the right side speakers malfunctions after moderate usage and the color becomes brownish etc.

It's been only 20 minutes since I started using these new headphones. I am a big fan of Trance and on iTunes, the bass is awesome. Just as much I like it. Padding is quite comfy. So for so good. I will update my review after a bit of usage. Somebody also bought these for an iPod, I am not sure if 3.5mm stereo plug will fit the iPod.

Also, this is not a military(or military style) headphones which is supposed to withstand extreme conditions. So I would handle these headphones in a delicate way, without putting them through tough conditions. I will be happy if these last a year.

I find the swiveling speakers very comfortable to ears. I have used similar Phillips headphones before and the swiveling is one of the feature, why I bought Phillips again. Also, when we unfold it the hinge on the both sides lock up, so that headphones wouldn't suddenly collapse.

Wires appear to have not-so-durable PVC insulation. However, I am gonna use these for sometime and see how they turn out to be.

So far, happy with their performance.

3 out of 5 stars And here I thought it was only my particular set   October 27, 2006

I had my Philips HL150 headphones for something like 1-2 years before something strange started happening. If you read any other review before reading mine, you can probably guess what that "strange thing" is; that's right, the right output of the headphones began to stop working.

Now, I am not the kind of guy who abuses my products. As a matter of fact, I own several products that are over 5+ years old yet still working perfectly. Nonetheless, the right output of the headphones (which I valued greatly due to my intense love for music) began to give out for no reason what so ever.

At first, it was easily fixed by me tapping on the right side a little but recently, even that method stop working. Now, no matter what I do, it will no longer work correctly. Sure, the left output still works but really, listening to only one output is unbearable.

Now I had thought it was only my particular headphones but reading all of these other reviews, I realized that it's a trend with this particular headphones. Kind of sad since I never really figure Philips for creating shoddy products.

Nonetheless, despite the horrible durability, I do personally think the headphone sound quality is very good. Additionally, the volume can go very high. The headphones lack good bass but I had thought the clarity was very good which was why I gave this product 3 stars. It lost 2 stars for bad durability and poor bass.

Overall, one can get something much better than the HL150 nowadays for a mere $10 more. Years ago, I would recommend these because they last long enough for only $10 but now, I highly recommend something else. I suggest that anyone looking for some headphones should try out some Sennheiser headphones (especially Sennheiser HD201 and HD202). For only a little bit more money, you can get something much better.
