1 out of 5 stars Good sound and features, but poor construction   August 4, 2008

Like others, I had the issue with these breaking at the ear piece swivel. This is from normal (light) usage. Having only used them on a few plane trips over the course of 6 months. These headphones are discontinued. So all Logitech could do is offer me a refund.

I also was beginning to have an issue with the sound going in and out on the right side prior to the breakage described above. Too bad about the poor construction.

The sounds was good, and nice features while they worked (which was not long). The noise canceling worked well to reduce airplane noise and passenger chatter. The ability to work as normal headphones once the battery is dead, which is a nice bonus. The case is nice as well, which has pockets for the (enclosed) 2-prong airplane jack adapter, and even a pocket for an iPod. I really did like these headphones, too bad they did not last.

4 out of 5 stars Logitech Noise Canceling Headphones   July 30, 2008

I purchased two sets of these headphones, one for me and one for my wife. One set arrived dead on arrival due to a broken left earpiece. Other reviews commented on earpieces breaking, but I thought how flimsy could they be? Pretty flimsy. You have to be very careful rotating the earpieces. Don't pull on the earpiece when trying to lengthen or shorten the head band to adjust the fit to your head. You're liable to break the swiveling connection on the earpiece. Apart from that weak point, the headset seems nicely constructed, comes in a very nice carrying case that protects them when not in use. They are comfortable to wear. The noise suppression is pretty good. It doesn't shut out all external noise, but it does reduce the volume considerably. The sound quality is fine to my ear. It is heavy on the bass side, but I like that. It sounds deep and rich. For the price, it is certainly a good deal compaired to Bose. Just wish those earpiece connections weren't so fragile.

3 out of 5 stars Good Sound Poor Construction   July 22, 2008

I've been enjoying these headsets for a couple of months. The sound quality is very good the battery lasts a long time and the thoughtful carrying case is perfect for my complete traveling audio needs. They seem to perform almost as well as my *very* expensive headsets I use when flying.

One day an ear piece broke off somehow (I don't know how) and on examination, I found that the swiveling attachment point is a very small and lightly built piece of hollow plastic trough which the wires pass. I glued it all back together and the earphones still work well, however they will no longer fit in that nifty case. Too bad.

1 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware...   July 14, 2008

I had these for 6 months and they worked well BUT, the right speaker broke off. Since it was Logitech, I figured they'd stand behind their product but, after several emails it was sorta resolved. This is the feed back I got from Logitech's help desk...

"I have been informed by the Warranty/Replacement Department that the Noise Cancelling Headphones are refund only."

So BE CAREFUL if they break on you, you'll be paying shipping costs again.

3 out of 5 stars Good value but didn't last long   July 12, 2008

I liked this headphone. I also have an Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 and the noise cancellation is very similar. The sound quality on the ANC7 is a lot better, with crisper highs and better spacial feeling, but it's also more than double the price. Being the cheaper one, I used the Logitech a lot more often, mainly because I use these a lot when gardening (I have loud neighbors, sigh, hence the headphones :P). I can't complain about the battery life or the construction strength. The only problem I had with it was noise on the right channel. It started after about 2 months of use, and with a little tap it would usually go away. Then it started getting worse, with static and loud pops (not good for your ears!). It finally broke down today, so I decided to review it to warn others. I still love them and will try to get them fixed (they're very comfortable), but they broke way too quickly (after only about 4 months of medium-light use). I'll use the ANC7 now and see how it stands up, and will try to get the Logitech fixed in warranty.
