Works great in our wagon! July 16, 2008 southerngal9 This item is great - it fits well in our VW Passat Wagon. We have a very large dog, so we did need to tighten the vertical pipes once to keep her from knocking it loose. Easy to adjust & install, lightweight as well.
Pretty easy to put in July 7, 2008 Scott Eicher (Butler, PA) This barrier was easy to put in. It didn't seem very sturdy at first but once I adjusted the nuts it felt pretty sturdy. I haven't tested it with the dogs yet but I'm sure it will hold fine. We just have 2 pugs. We have a Toyota Highlander and the older pug was able to jump from the trunk area to the back seat. This should work nicely.
Works very well. Sometimes rattles slightly. June 30, 2008 Daniel S. Winger (Verona, WI United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use the Highland 20046 Pet Barrier and 1 extension kit in my 2008 Ford Taurus X. I recommend the product highly. I am battling with a slight rattling sound. But I'm pretty sure I'll be able to eliminate the problem by using the tightening screws like I'm supposed to! I recommend this product. Incidentally, I also employ an off-white mosquito netting barrier to keep the dog hair (Yellow Lab) out of the passenger compartment. This works amazingly well. I've had the dog in the car for hours and there is almost *no* hair where the passengers sit! FYI: attached a velcro strip all the way across the ceiling with the adhesive side (the side with glue) down. Then I took another velcro strip with the adhesive side up and attached the two strips. I then connect the mosquito net to the down-side of the lower strip of velcro. This deploys quickly and I can remove it in a hurry, too. I recommend both. Oh... visibility through the metal pet barrier and the mosquito net is totally fine. No problems! :-)
Pet Barrier June 17, 2008 Les Benedict (Portland, OR) Works well enough, the sliding bars need to be re-designed in order to make them lockable.
Great choice! May 28, 2008 Tobi McDonald (Washington, PA) I wasn't sure what to expect with this after recieving only an extension for about the same price from another company who claimed "pet barrier". I was pleasently surprised that this was an actual full pet barrier. It came just in time to go camping over the weekend, and I didn't hear the usual cussing coming out of my husband from the back of our Jeep Cherokee, so I'm assuming it was an easy install. Fit just right, and had no problems with my dog wanting to get to the front. I assume she felt there was no way to do that. Even was sturdy enough with the "extra screws" my husband left out. :oP
