Very useful April 22, 2008 Living on the West Coast, driiving into the setting sun is pure hell. The sunblocker truly helps.
shoddy April 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
what a waste of material. I guess the idea was nice. not very high grade. I like the tint but images aren't clear. It's also pretty small. they do make soft visors for a reason. btw, I didn't buy it because I was going to use it for its supposed purpose. Also it was more then half off.
This item should be installed by the car manufacturer April 12, 2008 Trillium Worldwide TWI-8001 Sun Zapper Innovative Glare Shield Amazon's price was half of other sellers. Shipping was timely and arrived in great shape. The product really works. NIght blinding headlights are now gown!!! Blinding sun spot can easily be eliminated. My only complaint is that these are a little short. I drive a large SUV and really need some extra width. These glare shields are a "one-sive-fits-all" design, therefore must accomodate the smallest length needed for small car visors; those are several inches shorter than the largest. zi expect that these glare shields will be offered in several sizes in the future. We really like this product!!!!!!! We have gifted several to our family and associates.
a good idea that didn't work out April 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought 3 of these. I found one lying on the seat of the car, the visor clips apparently failed overnight - I found the broken pieces in the car. I complained to Trillium and they sent me new clips free of charge. which was good because a second one failed in the same manner - fine at night, in pieces in the morning. the third one broke at the hinge where the shield snaps into the clip. flipped it down to block the sun and the whole thing landed in the driver's lap while the car was moving.
all 3 arrived in a scratched condition, tolerable but still looked like they'd been dusty or dirty and someone cleaned them using scratchy materials. plastic is too soft, wouldn't hold up to regular dusting without becoming badly scratched. and they are NOT optically clear AT ALL, I got carsick while driving trying to view thru the distortion.
a great idea that could use some practical improvements - a metal rod at the hinge (instead of a quarter-inch bit of plastic), metal clips or greatly improved plastic clips (or including several spares with each purchase!), and better quality plastic or maybe even glass - something that won't scratch so easily and won't distort your view so badly.
I wasn't expecting much, but I was still disappointed.
Distorted but darker January 27, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This visor-extender is a good idea, but the two problems I found in MY sample were very distressing. The Darker of the two pieces slides smoothly and easily, but it does NOT ever disappear- you are forced to see it at all times. It should be either removable, or at least flippable to reduce the distraction. The second problem, possibly just in MY sample, is the severe distortion in the plastic. The waviness was very distracting, almost hiding smaller items in the line of sight. I hope the rest of the stock is of a better Optical quality, to soothe the eyes and to protect the driver from the glare and brightness that tends to attack the eyes and the driver's brain!
