4 out of 5 stars Inexpensive air compressor   June 13, 2008

I am very happy with this product. It does something rare - it does what it promises.
Positives are its inflation ability, compact size, and sturdy design.
Negatives are the small dial, and the connection tends to let air escape when disconnecting.
It is a little loud and slow, but that is a fair trade off for the low price.

1 out of 5 stars Broke after second use   May 21, 2008

I thought this was a fairly good product after the first time I used it. Unfortunately a month later when I used it for only the second time, the plug practically crumbled in my hand when I was pulling it out of the power outlet in my car. The plug is now in 5 or 6 pieces and the unit useless because I had to use pliers to get the remaining pieces out of the outlet. I would love to return it, but it's been more than 30 days. I guess you get what you paid for.

5 out of 5 stars Great little compressor!!!   March 18, 2008

The product description is sort of incomplete on this...

In addition to the regular compressor hose that's permanently attached inside the storage compartment, there is another hose included that looks like a small vacuum cleaner type hose. This can be connected to one of the additional ports on the front of the unit for more quickly inflating or deflating inflatables that require more volume, but no pressure (8 lb max.). This makes this model much more useful for inflatable toys than other models that would be much slower using the standard high pressure output. Great feature!!!

I've only used it a few times, but so far I'm extremely happy with the quality of this little compressor for the price. It's giving me the impression it will last awhile. It buzzes away with no signs of stress or heat. The case and switches have a very sturdy feel. The pressure gauge seems accurate to within about 2 lbs and it even reads accurately while the compressor is running. Doesn't look "junky" at all. It is small and measures up to 250 lbs., so the dial is hard to read accurately. I have a nice, big Accu-Gage, so that's not a problem. The built-in gauge would do fine in a pinch though. After you compared the reading to your old gauge once, you'd probably have no problems using it. The cord and hoses fit into the storage compartment pretty easily. The cord was long enough to fill the spare in the trunk of my Chevy Cavalier. It was down to 20 lbs. and it's supposed to be at 60!!! I always forget my spare when rushing to fill tires at the gas station. It took about two or three minutes to take the spare from 20 to 60, under a minute to top off my tires a few pounds.

The cord might be a little short if you have a larger vehicle... That's about the only possible negative I can think of.

So... yeah... I would definitely recommend this one if you think the cord will be long enough for your vehicle, particularly if you want to inflate tires and also larger inflatables that require more volume and less pressure. Great product. Amazon's price on this is really good too.

One of our cars has a mystery slow leak in a tire. We purchased this just to get the tire up to proper psi every week at home instead of having to make the trip to a service station. So far it has worked perfectly, no complaints at all.
