I think this is a descent detector for the price. I had an Whistler prior to this one and I think the Cobra is by far more superior. If you are using a radar detector so you can speed and think it should save you from a ticket, you had better give head a shake. The police don't all ways have their radar on so if you think it's the detectors fault that you got caught, again give your head a shake. This detector has decent range and the settings make it so it is not real annoying. For the price this is a good detector. But don't expect it to save you money in fines, because even the most expensive radar detectors won't save you either.

I bought this radar detector after getting 2 speeding tickets less than a month apart and haven't had one since. This is a very good product for the price. Only problem I have with it, its not loud enough. I like to rock out in my truck and have been pulled while the detector is going nuts but I'm jamming out. Didn't get a ticket though. The bad reviews I read on here are from people that apparently think cops drive around running radar constantly. Thats not the case. The detector only responds if it "DETECTS" something. If the cop has their radar off and turns it on as your speeding around, don't blame the detector because you lost at the cat and mouse game.

Detector seems to be pretty reliable in detecting radar threats at reasonable distance. Only inconvenience are false X-band alerts near certain traffic lights. Had no chance yet to test the Laser functionality.

I am not very happy with this product. It doesn't exactly let you know when a police officer is around and when it does it would be too late if you were speeding due to the fact it waits until you are right next to the police officer. The detecter beeps more for Kroger, Bp, and red lights. So, right now I'm not very happy.

I purchased this detector because of the recent speed traps around here. I now have had it 1 month - When I 1st got it I was at a major intersection the lights on top of the stoplights (for emergency vehicles) Was blinking singling a vehicle was coming this device did not recognize the emergency vehicle until it was literally next to me!! A week later I pulled up next to a cop car and the detector didn't blink until I was once again next to him. Another major flaw is the fact it is supposedly setup for some radar currently used in England K something - That is the only signal that has ever went off - generally false or way to late. Do not waste your time - Before it beeps your already staring down a ticket- Save your money for your ticket.
