5 out of 5 stars On Par for Cesar   September 21, 2008

Cesar is so insightful into the life of dogs and how to live a fulfilling life with dogs in a positive way while being a calm assertive pack leader. I have already listened to this twice. He has done a lot of reading in human physiology and uses quotes and references from some of the best physiologist from the human world, and uses these bits of knowledge effectively to explain his theory's. If you live what he preaches, life with your dog will forever be changed for the better. Your dog will be thankful you made the effort.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it did not contain specific training for problems. I found it to be too generalized.

5 out of 5 stars Everyone Can Learn Valuable Lessons From This Book   September 2, 2008

People bring a dog into their homes and treat that animal like a human being. Cesar reminds everyone that a dog is an animal and that when you treat a dog like a human being you are fulfilling your own needs and not the needs of your dog. You rob a dog of their very nature by making it behave like and treating it like a human being.

This is a book about training dogs by training their owners. Read the book with an open mind and understand that Cesar is really talking about how to find balance in your life -- when you do that, your dog will live a balanced life as well.

There is a wealth of knowledge in this book about learning to live in the now, how to overcome anxiety, understanding how you feel and how what you feel affects the people and dogs around you and so much more.

Cesar has truly written a book that helps dogs by helping people understand how their emotions affect their dog.

I don't even have a dog but I have learned so much about myself from watching Cesar's show, "Dog Whisperer" on the National Geographic Channel that I just had to read his book. I took it out of the library and then knew I had to have my own copy. This wonderful book is filled with fantastic lessons for real people. As Cesar says, "changing the world one dog at a time."

Have a dog or don't have a dog, buy this book. You will be glad you did!!!

2 out of 5 stars Get "Cesar's Way" Instead and save your money   September 2, 2008

Reading "ceasar's way" proved to be more informative than this book. While it gave the reader more case examples it basically re-iterated what was said in the prior book. I am a little dissapointed. Its not that I wanted to learn everything he does but some tips other than what was in the first book would have been helpful.

I don't have satellite, and so I rely on the season DVDs to watch Cesar Millan. I am always impressed and inspired. Watching and listening to him has carried over into my relationship with my horses. I have enjoyed hearing an expanded version of his philosophy on this audio book, Be The Pack Leader. I suspect most fans of Cesar have carried his concepts over into their relationship with the human species also. I have appreciated him because he confirmed so many things that animals have taught me. My only complaint about this CD is that it is abridged, and I would have preferred the full, 9 hour edition.
