DVD for Dogs not so entertaining March 26, 2008 Joy Cross (Massachusetts, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my dog whom we have decided has A.D.D. (haha) Anyway, she does have a short attention span, and the scenes in this movie are a bit too long to hold her attention. They will interest her for about 10 seconds, maybe a little longer, but as each scene and sound stays there for a good 5-10 minutes, I ended up watching more than she did. Also, there weren't a lot of barking dogs (just the same one occasionally throughout the movie) and there weren't any scenes of dogs playing together or anything. I think that these would have held her attention far longer than the ducks, chickens, fish, etc.. The movie is set up nicely, but for a dog with virtually no attention span, it didn't work out well.
Dog Lover and sitter March 26, 2008 Helen 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Really enjoyed the Music Dogs Love: While You Are Gone CD (go there for my review) so I ordered the DVD so I could change things up. My only complaint is my dogs leave nose prints on the screen :-). In all seriousness I was amazed in their response. The younger dogs seem to enjoy it the most. I usually put it on when I take my neighbors dogs for a walk (I dogsit them on the weekends) and when I get back my dogs are still sitting there staring at my TV. Its pretty funny!

I used to play the TV but now have become a "While You Are Gone" groupie! Have the "Music Dogs Love: While You Are Gone" CD now this. Your dogs will love them.
Keeps my dog out of trouble January 27, 2008 Veronica (Cincinnati, OH USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
We recently got a 8 month old beagle that is too smart for his own darn good. We decided not to cage him since he is housebroken and keeps the cats occupied. However, everyday I would come home to find something he climbed up on or got into (wicker baskets, toys, ornaments off the Christmas tree, etc). Figuring he was getting bored, I decided to buy a "dog sitter" DVD to entertain him during the long hours we were gone. I haven't had a chance to watch the DVD more than 10 minutes, and I don't know what all it shows, but it does keep him out of trouble. Whether it be the dog sounds, the pictures, or the story, whenever we pop the DVD in before heading out the door, I come home to non-puppy-destroyed house. I don't know if he actually watches it, or if the sounds are just soothing, but the DVD works versus days we just leave the TV on. It reminds me of a public access animal show, or something they would play at one of the county parks visitor centers. I would recommend it, even though it is a little costly. I especially like how it has a continuous play/loop default setting. It's even better than playing classical music! Knowing that the DVD is on is a total relief for me and that when I come home, my little guy hasn't made another mess for me to clean up.
