Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This revised and updated edition of lambing takes account of changes in techniques and advances in knowledge over the last decade. It contains a detailed accunt of various techniques used in the treatment and care of new born lambs and ewes. For this edition the text has been extended to include infectious abortion in ewes and problems in lambs up to weaning. There is also a new chapter on "Welfare at Lambing". There are guides to administration of drugs, artificial rearing and fostering practices. It is aimed at a professional readership - veterinary surgeons and practitioners, farmers, shepherds and animal health advisors. It should also be useful as a reference for students of agriculture and veterinary science.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Useful book for the shepherd   February 2, 2007
D. Schneider (Suwali Farm, SE Ohio)
This book provides a good, concise overview of health issues of lambs and pregnant ewes. Though written for a British audience, much of the book applies to North American sheep as well. Very useful pictures and straightforward information, including likely prognoses...always helpful when managing an ill animal.
