An outstanding addition to your library June 21, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The third edition of this textbook provides a well-illustrated, up-to-date and comprehensive account of veterinary laboratory medicine in an interesting and user-friendly format. The distinguished authors have succeeded in providing readers with excellent figures, legends, and concise narratives that provide a rich, broad-based resource for understanding and interpreting abnormalities encountered in lab animal medicine. This well-referenced text is recommended for the library's of all serious students, residents, pathologists, and practicing veterinarians.
Don't waste your money on this book..... February 8, 2004 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
This book has never been of any help to me. I bought it a few years after graduating from vet school and it has NEVER had any information I can find when I want to look something up. The case study format makes finding anything useful a nightmare. A terrific alternative book that I've used for years (and I just bought the newest edition) is Small Animal Clinical Diagnosis By Laboratory Methods- Michael D. Willard, Harold, Ph.D. Tvedten. It always has an excellent explanation of any clin path question I have.
What a waste of money November 19, 2003 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book has proven to be absolutly useless to me. I am a third year vet student, and every time i picked up this book to look something up, the information i needed was nowhere to be found in the book. it is the biggest waste of 65 dollars i ever spent in my life. i DO NOT reccomend this book. all the information this book has is nothing that you cant find in any of your general physiology/pathology/histology books. dont waste your money. for more specific clin path information, find another book. i hear Maryanne Thrall is coming out with one in a few months, so if you can wait for hers, she is the queen of clin path.
Veterinary Laboratory Medicine Interpretation & Diagnosis July 3, 2000 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
This book is an excellent resource for veterinary students. It includes easy to understand explanations of clinical laboratory findings and many diagrams illlustrating important concepts. It also contains helpful diagnostic algorithms and case studies to apply what you've learned. Overall it's a great value.
