Product Description An excellent study guide for veterinary technician students, this book is an ideal review for final examinations, state certification examinations, and the Veterinary Technician National Examination. The sections in the text mirror the sections on the national exam, with over 2,800 multiple-choice questions - written by expert veterinary technician educators - that contain the most current information available on various subject areas. A companion CD-ROM features 2,400 additional questions in tutorial mode, categorized by subject matter, with immediate feedback and rationales for correct answers. Test mode on the CD-ROM allows the user to take three randomized 200-question tests a maximum of three times each, which provides feedback on scores in each of the subject areas and points out areas requiring further study.
- Questions are written at appropriate level for veterinary technician students and practicing veterinary technicians, making this book a practical source for review.
- More than 5,000 questions in all provide a valuable review experience on various subject areas within the scope of the veterinary technician's duties.
- Questions are designed to test factual knowledge, reasoning skills, and clinical judgment.
- Answers with rationales for correct answers are provided in an answer key at the back of the book, along with sample answer sheets for practice.
- All questions are multiple-choice, the format most commonly used in certification exams.
- All 2,800 questions in the book are completely new to this edition.
- A new CD-ROM contains 2,400 additional questions, providing twice as many questions for study as the last edition, as well as the option of taking actual practice tests.

This book is awkward. November 13, 2008 R. M. Cain 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book contains a lot of good information, but I find it hard to use as a study guide. It's only useful if you want to take the tests to check how well you're doing. It's very difficult to flip back and forth to check answers as you go.
Great study guide July 18, 2008 Amanda Wakeman (Picayune, Mississippi) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is a great stugy guide. I used it to get ready for the national vet tech exam!
AWESOME study tool June 18, 2008 K. Boyce-Mejias (Modesto, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is very comprehensive in helping you study for the state boards. The incuded CD allows you to test or quiz yourself on the computer, so you can time your test taking, more of a simulation of the actual (california) state board test. You can choose to test within a single topic (quiz) or random questions from all the topics (test). One negative thing about the CD generated tests, they seem to repeat sevearal of the questions (at least all of the tests I have done did this). I would prefer to have 100 different questions. All in all, it is very helpful for studying, especially for small animal people, cuz it does ask A LOT of large animal questions!
Item returned, not unhappy though! February 16, 2008 Amy Kennedy 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the wrong book of this set. I needed the study guide with the actual informative stuff and I bought the practice test questions book (which I will need eventually, I know)but I sent it back and then will purchase the right one!
Colville's Review February 11, 2008 Mark Twain (South Carolina) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Colville's book of Review Questions for Veterinary Technicians appears to be a pretty accurate representation of what the Veterinary Technician National Exam Questions will be like or so I have heard from Vet Techs who have already taken the Exam. The questions are sometimes random but generally cover all the bases with sections on every aspect of a Technician's knowledge. Basically, it's a pretty great review but very difficult.
